I’ve always loved Wonkette, but Rebecca makes this such a special place. Love you, becca! Thanks for taking such good care of your writers (and all of us!!)
I’m very thankful for George Santos. As assistant chief negative tanker against his own Republicans (the real enemy of the citizenry), he may just actually be America’s best friend. Thanks, George!
I just realised something, Rebecca. We look like we could be related. We have such similar facial proportions, it's weird. Apropos of totally nothing, I always find it funny when you come across people that kinda look like yourself. LOL.
It is a dark chilly Black Friday here in beautiful downtown Nortwest Georgia. I shall go shopping for a nice shelf for the landing. Then I will hit the salvage yard for a new car door switch.
There's a remote possibility that SER and/or, (more remoter) MTG heard Alice's Restaurant on 90.5 WUOG - the Bravest Radio Station in the Universe - during their freshman year in college.
And it would be because my roommate and I requested it (and explained to the late night deejay that it was a twenty minute song).
You know what I really enjoy about Rebecca’s writing? It’s elegantly and appropriately slumming through the rest of us slobs, but has the decency to say “thank you” and “come with”
which I love. It’s not that she’s writing above people or punching down, but welcoming them along on an upward trajectory. Just the right amount of reveling. Excellent empathy. That’s pretty fuckin cool, don’t you think?
I just love you to bits, Martini Glam. Your tabs are so inventive! Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us. Your work is engaging and I watch all the way through. Please don’t stop.
We're slowpokes, so the boneless leg o' lamb isn't in the oven yet. But the potatoes are, the lemon curd cheesecake is done, the asparagus is ready to be roasted, and I have a glass of pinot noir to tide me over.
I love when people cook something other than turkey on Thanksgiving! I braised a brisket with lots of onions and garlic! It was delish! You have inspired me to do leg o' lamb for Christmas.
So Thanksgiving was mom and me. It was nice! We did the whole turkey thing because we are a couple of stubborn old ladies. My gravy was, if I may say so, kick-ass.
I am thankful this year for my post-retirement career as a pet sitter, which required me to spend this day giving walks and scritches to other people’s fur babbies rather than accompanying Mr. F up the hill to visit his parents. It’s bad enough they bought a fake Christmas tree this year; please don’t make me look at it.
My math dept. team is the best. I have never had a job teaching or otherwise with such a supportive, hardworking, and got-your-back group of people.
My 8th graders this year are heads and tails above my 8th graders for the past couple of years. It makes me think things are slowly getting back up to speed in mathland.
I was able to plant a small row of potatoes yesterday.
The weather here on the coast is fabulous right now. I might need to go mushrooming tomorrow.
You all, especially since my home at Jezebel is no more. I don't post much, but I read daily. You all are a smart bunch.
We’ve gotten good at this. A magnificent turkey, stuffing and gravy, superb mashed potatoes (okay, butter and milk with whipped potatoes mixed in), Brussels sprouts, the NYT string bean casserole, mashed squash and turnip. Sister-in-law made a cranberry sauce that featured curry flavors and garlic. My new favorite. There were five adults, and enough food for 10. Leftovers!
No, THANK YOU! Actually gave me a reason for "thanks giving", so "Thanks" some (a lot!) more.

I am filled with a feeling of LOVE and gratiude when I get my monthly email from PayPal that I donated to Wonkette.
It feels good people, do eeeet! It's fun!

But i thought Ana started Wonkette in the 90s.
ETA: okay, it was 2004.

I am thankful for a few things this year....
My parents are in good health.

It'd be awesome if they linked up with the Defector crew.

Big meal, small gathering (6) and very thankful... that it's over.
Yes! And I think my donations have expired a while ago and need to restart.
