Everything about how to make ketchup and mustard also applies to the Democratic party. I am absolutely serious. If a Democratic party leader took this approach, what would it look like?

I'm so tired of pleas for yet more money that aren't backed by some of this kind of common sense.

Remember when AOC was derided by the entire Democratic Party for calling for ineffective, out-of-touch Dems be primaried?

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

We should never have come anywhere near this point in history.

This should never EVER have been allowed to happen, and yet.

It took me a while to fully process this, but we were betrayed TWICE -- once by the rubes who voted red, and then also, by the officials who we voted into office to protect us from exactly this turn of events.

We were saying this since 2015, and shouting it from the rooftops since 2020.

There were at least a dozen and probably more crossroads where this could have been stopped, or sidetracked, or circumvented -- and at every possible opportunity, the people who were empowered to do something did NOTHING. I don't even mean they tried and were blocked by the Rebubs; I mean THEY. DID. NOTHING.

I'm generally not a fan of conspiracy theories, but from the standpoint of right this minute, it's hard to believe that this wasn't deliberate, because it's simply not possible for anyone with functioning sensory apparatus to be THAT codependent OR that much of a slow learner.

Apparently part of Trump's strategy is to appoint a bunch of people that are so awful that the less awful ones seem acceptable in comparison.

I use the word "supine", definition 2 from Oxford Languages, "2. Failing to act or protest as a result of moral weakness or indolence."

The “dangers” of AOC and Bernie in the eyes of the MAGA cult are an informed (with FACTS) and activated populace.

What hell is up with Amy Klobuchar (who, I'm sure it's been pointed out, is actually from Minnesota and not Michigan)? I expected better from her.

I've been very harsh with Slotkin, who had my money as well as my vote last cycle and sounded good on the campaign trail, not so much now that she's in office.

Could anyone give me a non stupid reason Dems are voting for any of these terrible(Rubio) self dealing (noem), unqualified( hegseth) grifting(Kennedy) lying and insane (Patel) noms? Is it a showing of bipartisanship?-stupid or devil you know?-also stupid. WHEN these incompetents like Duffy fuck up and kill people the GOP would solely own it, but no they couldn’t even understand that simple shit.

A Republican would never give their vote without getting something in return. What did the Dems get for supporting any of these nominees?

A lot of Democrats seem to be under the illusion that, if they're nice to Rethugs that they'll appeal to the Rethugs' "better nature." I understand people want to hope, but it's crystal clear by now that Rethugs have no "better nature." They're evil bastards.

I’m so sick of Schumer. He’s part of the reason we’re in this mess. His neoliberal policies and open abandonment of the working class because he was so certain college educated city dwellers and suburbanites coming to the Dems would offset the losses-whelp how’d that work out Schumer? The dem base and working class people didn’t show up in 24 and now we get to see nazi salutes out in the open. Can he just stop being a narcissist and step down as leader and I swear t fucking god if the perennially boring and long winded Cory booker or neo lib waffle gillebrand becomes leader I’ll burn it all down. Can we please get someone youngish who knows how to fight like Chris Murphy?

Love Gov Pritzker and his sis. They made their money the old fashioned way…inheritance. And they use that money with a real sense that it is an endowment for good things that they manage not just a horde of wealth that makes them unaccountable.

YES!!! Other than Substack, AOC and Jasmine are my lifelines! The only Democrats I see yelling and screaming which is what I wanna hear! Although, your governor is stepping up to the plate it seems. So I’m proud of him. And Chris Murphy is doing pretty well. But, I agree… None of them should be voting to confirm any cabinet positions! Their job should be to make this as difficult as possible and to continue to point out all of the behind the scenes stuff that Trump and musk are doing! The people need to know!
