I’m aware that Klobuchar is smart. She’s my senator. But I think Warren is better, and it’s frustrating to feel like Warren has been out there taking ALL the “but can a woman win” and “hey let’s grill the lady candidate about every last tiny technical detail of everything while the men yell slogans” fire for a year, and now Klobuchar gets to emerge all new and shiny and not beat to hell with snake emojis and shit. The Minneapolis Star Trib already has an article out with Klobuchar’s friends saying, “See, she didn’t make her message solely about being a female glass-ceiling-breaker,” as if that had ever been Warren’s thing. But I can already hear the dialogue on every morning show and a thousand “post-mortem” think pieces about Warren’s not-at-all-dead-yet campaign about how, “See if she just had shut up about being a woman...maybe if she hadn’t had such ambitious plans...maybe if she smiled more...” It’s just so fucking predictable.
