We had a "mighty hunter" whose favorite prey was, of all things, earthworms -- which she liked to leave on the carpet in my parents' bedroom where my Dad would step on them with his bare feet when he got up in the morning. Not sure exactly what hunting technique she employed, but it sure seemed to be effective.
