" I do believe in bringing manufacturing back to the United States — but from countries where workers are being poorly paid and exploited."

Yeah, it would be great to take jobs away from poor people in foreign countries. Come on, Robyn.

Trump's financial people claim there is no inflation, eh? Well prices are up and I just paid 3.79 for an avocado that was 2.50 last week. Trump is no economist, nor is he a president. He is a scam artist who specializes in cheap schlock and a low rent life papered over with cheap made-in-China gold colored doodads. Cheap bling. And that is the future of this country if we don't get rid of this cheap empty suit clown.

No. He is following the authoritarian playbook, which includes crippling or collapsing the US economy in order to take control away from everyone except himself and his cabal of oligarchs. The poorer we get, the more politically weak we become and more dependent on Dear Leader.

I really wish that people would just call tariffs what they really are: CONSUMER TAX.

100% tariffs on pharmaceuticals that are already 1500% cheaper than when Biden sold them. They said it couldn’t be done. But I did it. Lowest prices in the history of time. Even dinosaurs paid more for their Klonopin than people do now. They said, Sir, you can’t make them that low. But I did. I told them to lower them. The prices were so high. Biden set the prices. Highest anyone had ever seen. I said no. They have to be lower. Not just low, but very low. Even lower than that. I did it.

It shouldn't be a big deal once pharmaceutical prices go down 1500% ...won't we still be getting cash back, even after tariffs?

as long as that fucking idiot trump keeps dropping the price of my Peruvian headache powders with every stupid fucking decision he makes in re CBP and the southern borders, i think i can put up with a couple bucks a month increase in my script prices...i'm retired and on medicare, it doesnt affect (and yes, i refuse to inappropriately use the word 'impact') me that much anyway...at least, not yet

but seriously...it's never been cheaper to get the good stuff...my munt-ly supply bill is now lower than my munt-ly medicare premium--and that's because the idiot-in-chief has most of ICE and CBP agents everywhere but the border

anyway....MEDICARE FOR ALL, gottdammit 🤨 💪🏼

I put together a website explaining the process of ordering medicine from India when I saw the price of Xarelto. $500 for a 1month supply bs $60 for a years supply of the generic from India.

Ta, Robyn. Medicare for All. I have decent coverage through my employer -- a visit to a specialist carries a copay of $37.50 -- but I want EVERYONE covered for everything that isn't strictly cosmetic.

Don't like the Trump comb over wrap around solutiion to balding?. It does take a good bit of time out of your day and requires a lot of product to accomplish Trump must use at lest two cans of extra firmhold hair spray per week.

I feel like this is the important bit:

"European drugmakers AstraZeneca (AZN), GSK (GSK), Novartis (NVS) and Sanofi (SNY), all of which are building or have plans to build US factories, closed higher on Friday, while Novo Nordisk (NVO) closed down slightly. But drugmakers Alibaba Health, Chugai, Daiichi, JD Health, Samsung Biologics, Sankyo, Sankyo and WuXi AppTec fell somewhat more substantially on Asian stock exchanges, even though they may be exempt from the tariffs or make up a relatively insignificant portion of the US market."

MONEY QUOTE:

"Not to get conspiratorial, but I absolutely believe a large part of this effort is related to the fact that Trump doesn’t want kids to go to college and wants them to get into fields like manufacturing instead (not that manufacturing jobs don’t require a degree — about a third of them do, but Trump probably doesn’t know that). Why? Because college will brainwash them all into becoming liberals! I also think that’s why the Right is so very excited about the idea of AI taking over white collar jobs."
