"Pregnancy and birth in Arkansas

How Arkansas compares to other states on key health measures.

Births: Arkansas ranks 11th highest for births, 2nd highest for teen births and 6th highest for preterm births

Mortality: Arkansas ranks 3rd worst for infant mortality and 4th worst for maternal mortality.

Health coverage: A higher percentage of women in Arkansas are uninsured than the U.S. average...."

Certainly, blocking abortions has had an impact on these statistics, an impact is sure to increase as hospitals close their birthing centers and OB/GYNs leave the state.

But, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the rest of her "pro-life" hypocrites don't care

Ta, Robyn. Yet another state in which I'll never set foot again. My so-called reproductive years are long over, but it's the principle of the thing. Arkansas will never receive another penny from me apart from my federal tax dollars, because of *course* they're one of the "taker" states. The only other exception I'll make is if there's a crafter selling on Etsy whose work I love. People often can't help where they live.

I suppose it's too late to gather additional signatures via volunteers now, huh. If not, it's time to mobilize such volunteers like crazy.

In any case, I hope they can at least use this bullshit in the current campaign against any Rs up for election.

Everyone is happy this issue is now left up to the states. Just ask Donald Trump.

Everyone, that is, except certain of the states.

The republican controlled government of the states. Not the actual people living in the state (heaven forfend!).

No, I'm sure the people have been lining up to say, "Sir, thank you so much for getting rid of Roe v. Wade and sending abortion back to the states," with tears in their eyes. The liberal media doesn't show that part of his standing room only rallies.

Unreconstructed states doing what unreconstructed states do best. Going to have to really get the good people of Arkansas a lot of help. Because the unreconstructed Republican party sees the writing on the wall and they hope to use their culture war bullshit to help keep their hold on power solid in such places.

I'm sick of Republicans balancing the budget on the backs of the poor. If it doesn't affect Congress and the Prez, who cares? Tax Social Security, tax unemployment benefits, tax the people at the bottom who can't take thousands of deductions. Like I say, stealing from the poor is lots easier than stealing from the rich.

This kind of "legal suppression" is what the Right has in store for all of us if we give them any more power. We need to take back the country and undo all the Trump-McConnell judicial corruption down to the state level.

Republicans hate it when individual people have an individual vote. If they could have an electoral college for the state they would. Allowing regular folks: non-white, non-rich, to vote would be dangerous. Chaos would ensue!

This is all about removing the abortion vote from the presidential cycle. They know this one is coming back.

Nope, they don't want voting at all, unless it's on Dancing With The Stars or some other trifle.

"States rights" are only valid when an unreconstructed locale wishes to do illegal discrimination.

Montana? I heard about Nebraska's but wasn't aware of two initiatives in Montana. There are 2 voting initiatives, but they aren't exactly dueling, either.
