Sunday's 60 Minutes show did a piece on a new play based on a photo album that was put together by one of the Nazi officers in charge of the Auschwitz murder camp. In the piece, a 91 year-old survivor of that camp said that all that it takes to turn someone in to a murderous, hateful and evil bigot, of any kind, is just "permission". Today's so-called leaders of the Fascist, formerly Republican, party have done just that. They have given permission to millions of people to be the very worst possible people they can be. And millions of people have taken that permission, jumped into a cesspool of hate and ignorance head first and are ecstatically swimming in the filth. It doesn't take much. And even if they emerge from said cesspool they will just wait for another madman to once again give them permission to dive back in.

Goldurn it. Kristin Gillibrand grew up in Albany, where I grew up, and graduated from Dartmouth College, where I taught for over 40 years. At least she's not as bad as Dartmouth Grads Laura Ingraham and Dinesh D'Souza ....

Remember that Kristen Gillibrand helped sink the career of one of our best senators, Al Franken, because she couldn't, even for a moment consider the fact that he was being set-up by the Republicans with a tasteless photo that wasn't actually harassment, but then failed to address actual sexual harassment that occurred within her own staff. So, it only makes sense that she is going to gloss over the truth of Mamdami's position on antisemitism in order to fall in line with the Republicans who are attacking him for not renouncing a phrase he's never uttered.

Here's the thing about a large number of people historically, perhaps half or more of the population; if people benefitted from slavery, well slavery is good. if you benefit from racism, oh gosh darn, racism is good. With sexism and most other "isms" discernment of a finely tuned moral compass doesn't apply, and quite simply the moral compass fails to develop from practice or atrophies because gaining profit, whether monetary or other forms of energy, gained and hoarded is what matters.

Fun fact; Mamdani received the second most votes from the Jewish community in NYC. And the person who won the most is definitely not Cuomo. It was Brad Lander. Who is. now out of the running. So who will the Orthodox Jews vote for in the general election? In my opinion, as a NYC Jew, it still won’t be Cuomo.

I think Gillibrand is paving the way for her constituency of NYC Jewish voters. Politicians politic, but I find her stance of claiming that Mahdami has endorsed a " Global Infidata " to be an out right lie. Politicians need and exploit news platforms for their own gain, a la Trump. The cry of anti-semitism regarding Mahdami's advocating for basic human rights for Arabs, and Palestinians in particular, is a clarion call for GOP twisting and obsfucating the agendas of their Democratic political competitors. In other words, " Up is Down, & Down is Up. " We have a scare-crow pointing directions for Dorothy and friends in two different directions. I am mind-boggled that Ogles actually wrote and endorsed an amendment to the US Constitution that would allow Trump to run for President again. Are we now Argentina ?! Peronista playbook: Project 2025.

Marjorie Taylor Greene would do well to remember that the FBI IGNORED credible warnings of a Terrorist attack against the Twin Towers : cue comments that 9/11 was an

" inside job. " If we are to watch YouTube documentaries that explore anomalies at Ground Zero, which I have. There's an enormous contingent of two-party US partisans that question George Bush's role in 9/11. Similar to how * There were no WMD's * in Iraq. Hey, we helped to put Saddamn Hussein in power until we disagreed with him. I've read the book " The Looming Tower " which explores the Bin Laden families role in 9/11.

But I'm getting off topic.

Cuomo's popularity has tanked.

If Ogles has written and endorsed an amendment to the US Constitution which would allow Trump to run again, has that amendment passed ?

I used to think Gillebrand was principled when she spearheaded ousting Al Franken from the Senate by getting him to resign. (Al is way more principled than her). As it has developed, Gillebrand has no principles at all. She should resign.

Ever since she went after and vilified Al Frankenstein, Kirsten Gillibrand is deadtome. And no amount of performative ‘Look at me, I’m an antisemitism fighter’ will ever get her off my shit list.

Or you could fuck off back to Tennessee and let New York run New York -- that would work, too, Cletus.

I'd like to see Cuomo finish fifth in November, behind not only Mamadani, Sliwa, and Adams, but also some joke candidate who didn't expect to get a whole 1% of the vote.
