Shh, ye'll give the scam away!- John Nelson Darby

But they can't figure out how to get people to show up. Schools are packed full of young impressionable minds that have to be there. All they have to do is offer free lunch at the park, which sounds really pervy. If these geniuses knew anything about kids, they'd know they were just looking for an excuse to leave the campus.

Hey, I was a teacher's aide in the schools both in MIddleton and Cross Plains. We moved away in 2002 and this would never have been tolerated back then. Russ Feingold was our neighbor, his daughters had the same teachers our kids eventually had. It was a great place. This is so disheartening!

Where is the Satanic Temple when you need them?

Today for me. I would eat pretty much everything besides that given the chance. I work there so it's free.

I have accidentally made this for myself! But not in such a divine-sounding way. I can only imagine what it tastes like in Italy, with freshly made pasta, fresh romano from the little hillside farm, and fragrant peppercorns and olive oil. I will definitely have to do this!!

The Parmesan (I forget which) that I get from chefshop is actually crumbly enough that you could easily break off small bits and pieces and slices and just put that on in. It's a bit of an investment but lasts forever. They're just about to ship their "spring milk" wheels. It's a nice catalogue too, run by very friendly folks, lots of goodies from Italy. http://chefshop.com/Parmigi...

I also sometimes make spaghetti, then add goat cheese, pine nuts, and barely wilted spinach, olive oil and a bunch of grated Romano. If I'm alone I may eat it hunched over the bowl in the kitchen.

I am sorry about your arthritis! I wonder if something like this would be usable? http://kitchenarts.com/prod... http://www.arthritissupplie...

Cue the Satanic Temple in 3, 2, 1...

Arthritis is a pain, pun intended. That's a clever device, but what I can't do is grip things very well, so it would not help. I also get severe sciatica, and between the two of them I am a mess. I drop things, but can't bend over to pick them up! 😠 Those gripper wands are quite useless if you want to pick up something heavy that you have dropped, such as a frying pan, or the cat. 😄

My biggest problem is I like a LOT of grated cheese. When I was little, we passed the cheese and the grater around the table and each person grated as much as they wanted, and the cheese tended to stay with me quite a long time, so my mother would jokingly ask me "Would you like a little spaghetti with your cheese?"

The school just needs to start seriously enforcing their policies. If a parent wants to take their child off campus at lunch time, the kid has to give the office written notification, and the parent has to sign the kid out and isn't permitted to do the same for anyone else's children. Any violations, and the kids get detention, and the parents of the affected kids will put a stop to this in a hot minute when they're inconvenienced.

Y'know, I can't remember ever seeing a single parent show up to my high school. Not even once. You didn't even get a lot dropping kids off; most of us drove, walked, got a ride from a friend, or rode the bus.

Because their story is so weak they need to piggyback on the authority of school and gov't, of course

But you'll never hear THEM say that...

Uh, your point?

Just guessing here, but if the school has a lease agreement for the park it's because whoever owns the park doesn't want their insurance to be responsible for schoolkids. It's not always about the children, sometimes it's about the money.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear it. It sounds rough. Sounds like it's well worth it for you to get it pre-grated. Wish you could get it closer to home! Try the chefshop parmesan if you feel like it... it just kind of crumbles off (if you like "bigger pieces"). Well there's nothing like cheese to make a day better! (Or a cat). Hope you have more good days than bad.

(The adjective is "Guyanese". No, really.)

Heck, a lot of public schools will let secular and religious organizations rent space in the evening/weekend to hold classes, meetings, religious services, etc. These parents could probably do that. But that would cost them money and mean they have to follow some rules, god forbid.
