Until I read yr post I never knew if they even have some kind of social security in UK. But-- can you imagine what it would be like if it was privatized here? Instead of social security, all households would receive weekly bulletins from Wall St. firms to guide their retirement investments. Because that would be Freedom!

That seriously is like the plot of an episode of ''Law & Order: Criminal Intent' where David Harbour plays a father who ultimately kills some realtives, an old boss, his wife and then takes his daughter to a cabin in the woods where he tells her the only way they can be saved is to die and be with God. She gets away and is ultimately saved by Goren and Eames, and th father is arrested, but not being kiling 4 people.
