Is it my imagination, or does the Republican Party seem to be floundering at all levels?

Symbolically "governing" Wisconsin.

Yes. If they can’t win by gerrymandering then they’ll sue or try to oust elected officials. Sore losers.

Yes, keep an eye on WI because Vos is taking his frustrations out on state higher ed employees. He is blocking a cost of living wage, just for them. Not for the rest of the state employees even though staff at state colleges are also state employees. Why? So he can hold all the college DEI positions hostage. He is the most vile state politician in WI history. He would rather destroy the state than give up being cruel. We can't keep letting one state after another become an antidemocratic hellhole and expect to have a country worth living in.

Translation: they realized there are elections to win and some sort of internal polling is showing that all their maga shit is making things a bit tight in more races than they feel comfortable

I'd bank on that

They are scared to death of losing their gerrymandered maps because they will never be a majority in the lege again.

Courageous Dem female state prosecutors pursuing election fraud prosecutions. Courageous Dem female state election officials sweeping away false claims about election issues. Courageous Dem female state governors pushing progressive agendas. Are we seeing a pattern? I am comfortable Joe Biden will be re-elected in 2024 but for 2028 I am really hopeful we see a full slate of female Dem candidates for President.

My choice today would be Gretchen Whitmer. But the Dems have a very deep bench in that category. The Rs just have a bunch of Sarah Palin clones.

We need Wisconsin in 2024 so further effort to galvanize anti Rethug sentiment there is a priority. Wisc. Dems are doing a great job of rallying.

. . . and they are absolutely sure that the Democrats will do to them what they've done to the citizens of Wisconsin.

because they can't imagine anyone being fair-minded . . . i wonder why?

But they also know that, even if Dems play fair, Dems are more popular. Ratfucking is all Repubs have. If they're not cheating, they're not winning.

“Symbolic,” meaning, “performative.” And sending heavy-handed letters threatening to run and tell the SCOTUS is typical Republican whining. Yes, everyone has the power to file a lawsuit, an appeal, even request certiorari in the scotus if things don’t go your way. But sending such letters only reveals how insecure republicans are, and that they know exactly why their gerrymandering is egregious.

I am summarily collapsing any thread on this page that leads with Powell flipping, and I'm left with very little else on-topic. And now I have to add Germ Jordumb stuff to the collapse list.

Yeah, just scrolling past OT stuff isn't a big problem, until it is.

So now, instead of cleansing otherwise-banhammerable comments with "with votes," we can say, "with symbolism." Cool!

Well I'll be damned; actually I'm relatively certain I already am.

But I did NOT see Jordumb giving up the Battle for the Gavel quite so soon or so relatively quietly.

If I'm honest this makes me a bit anxious. This isn't in line with Dim Jordumb's usual bombastic, over-bearing behavior and it makes me very suspicious.
