"Fargo stars Frances McDormand, William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare, Kristin Rudrud, John Carroll Lynch, and Steve Reevis. Directed by Joel Coen."

Despite the symbol in the credits, Prince was not in this movie. That was someone's idea of a joke. A pretty good one, actually.

I haven’t read all 1900+ of the comments so apologies if someone already posted this bit of trivia: the body in the snow in that picture is Prince.

No, it isn't. Someone used his symbol in the credits albeit sideways. It was a great joke!

But Prince wasn't in this movie.

Also - and this one hurts because I believed it for a long time - the two people who wrote "Let It Go" were NOT inspired by Prince's song of the same name; Prince did not supply the line "the cold never bothered me anyway"; and in fact, the song authors never spoke to Prince.

That was a great rumor, though!

Media: We didn’t talk about Joe Biden’s age enough even though we literally ran him off the ticket with our coverage of it.

Also media: Fact checking Trump’s lies or talking about his convictions would be too biased. Besides, everyone already knows he’s a lying criminal. We don’t need to keep talking about it.

Last night, I slept 8 hours. It's been a few weeks since I got a full night's sleep, and it feels really good. Today is a lazy day, so I will just do the minimum adult daily requirement.

I fell asleep last night around 2:30, and had to put on a yt vid to knock me out. Algorithm took me to a video by this guy who was formally a teacher and a corporate employee, but ended up working at Home Depot at the age of 66. I wondered why, and he said that was another story, and then I fell asleep, and I had this long convoluted dream where he was in my bedroom while I was sleeping, and he was still talking to me and he was assembling furniture from Home Depot in my bedroom. It was more restful than it sounds.

Corridor moves up and down the West/East line of the US by decades. There was a twenty year period where every small town in SW Minnesota was devastated. Those little towns just cleaned themselves up, mourned the dead, dusted themselves off and rebuilt, mostly without help from anywhere. We hardly knew we had any governments that weren't city or county....

One of Assface's strengths is conning people to think everything is rigged, which in some cases is correct. He has way of making people believe with his simple and crude word construction (and appeal that I don't get) that he alone can fix it. Joe Biden actually tried to do something about inequities, so the Democrats' failure isn't policy or inaction, it's that their messaging doesn't work in the modern media landscape. One example of many things they can point to, they could start with this below and then loudly and repeatedly point out that the GOP and Assface are doing nothing about it. "Rent too high? That's not your fault. We did this about this problem, we said we would do more (provide short, concrete examples), what are they doing? What did they say they were going to do? Why haven't they done this?" Attack, attack, attack. People are more likely to believe a negative thing about a group then pick the other side to be on rather than seeing a positive thing and wanting to be in that group. That seems to be our culture now, and it is up to Democrats to find the ways to get the message out. Modern mass media doesn't reach the audience they need to.

<The Harris-Walz plan also focuses on “corporate landlords using private equity backed price-setting tools to collude with each other to jack up rents dramatically in communities across the country.” Last month, the Biden-Harris Justice Department sued RealPage for algorithmic rent pricing that it alleges violates antitrust laws. “By feeding sensitive data into a sophisticated algorithm powered by artificial intelligence, RealPage has found a modern way to violate a century-old law through systematic coordination of rental housing prices — undermining competition and fairness for consumers in the process,”> https://nhc.org/the-harris-walz-housing-plan-detailed-serious-and-impactful/

Also, modern media, being a profit driven corporate enterprise, often owned and controlled by diversified capitalists, are straight up not incentivized to treat democrats fairly. "They want to regulate our negligence and malfeasance, and tax our illegitimate wealth? Naw, fuck 'em!"
