I get that. And I had similar concerns, or was just afraid I can't trust them with the care of my cats, that were when I started looking both in a vulnerable state. Fritzie freshly out of surgery, and Xaver with a fast growing tumor. Now it is just one cat and his issues have gotten less. It was an immense relief to meet two people who are not just willing to take time out of their day to let me get to know them, but also clearly care a great deal about their cats and have lots of medical experience with their rescues to.. AND prefer the same vet lady I do. They are a bit older than me and have been married for a while, bought and renovated a house together nearby. Plus, we first met at their house for coffee. That was reassuring too. I know that is not an option for you tho, to meet them somewhere else. :/
Definitely get a contract and maybe ask for a copy of their ID, if you go for someone you don't know well.
I beg to defer.
