Hmm. Seems like this story might total out in 50 parts. I'd better get my lore dump of everything that happened to lead up to this in the final part! I want to see how things work in the USA, too! Also, who is Stew? My best guess is that he is the son of Dakota Adams, who named his son after his father, Stewart Rhodes, who was leader of the Oath Keepers on J6 and is currently in federal prison for Seditious Conspiracy. Adams has publicly rebuked his father and rejected his ideology.
OT. The L.A. Times reporter is rightly skeptical of the Sheriff's assertion this was an assassination attempt.
"Man arrested with guns near Trump rally says he had a pass to be there"
... Vem Miller, 49, of Las Vegas was booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio on charges of possessing loaded firearms [shotgun, handgun and high-capacity magazine], Riverside County sheriff’s officials said. He has since been released on bail pending a court appearance.
Deputies found the guns after searching Miller’s black SUV at a checkpoint at Avenue 52 and Celebration Drive in Coachella about 5 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
At a news conference Sunday, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said his deputies had likely thwarted an assassination attempt, although he acknowledged “there is absolutely no way any of us are going to truly know what’s in [the suspect’s] head.”
The deputy questioning Miller noticed what Bianco called “many irregularities” with his SUV: The license plate was phony, the vehicle was unregistered and the interior was “in disarray,” the sheriff said.
The homemade license plate was “indicative of individuals claiming to be sovereign citizens,” Bianco said, referring to an ideology whose followers do not consider government authorities to be legitimate. Bianco called it irrelevant that most sovereign citizens subscribe to far-right beliefs.
A "sovereign citizen" has guns; a "sovereign citizen" is interested in a Trump rally. Yeah, unless there's more information, I wouldn't peg this as an assassination attempt, although you know they're going to spin this incident as "LEFTISTS KEEP TRYING TO KILL TRUMP!"
I have a hard time imagining that States would cleave easily into Conservative/Liberal chunks. It seems more likely that weirdness would prevail. A lot of cities tilt liberal, a lot of rural areas have pockets of liberal enclaves. In Northern Michigan, there are untold numbers of rural backwoods homes that could double as compounds for either side. Also, although most rural towns here are theoretically run by Republican councils and county commissions, the people who do the actual work of maintaining civilization in those towns are mostly Democrats. Anarchy and confusion are more likely outcomes... the issues are not as simple as the Civil War of the 1860s. And it would be difficult to define them. I suspect there would be religious militarization, but probably against other sects and subgenres of faith. Liberal Catholic churches would be in contention with conservative Catholic churches. Episcopals and Lutherans would take sides against Baptist populism, for example. It would be a confusing shitshow and could go on forever, at least until China and Russia had something to say about it...
I'd feel ecstatic if I weren't remembering the Russian refugees that Putin offed outside Russian borders. Stay safe, Lorinda, and welcome to your new home!
Wait - Ren (Roger) and Stimpy (Stewart?) were NOT a couple?

Ta, Ellis. Ta, Steve. This is an amazing journey.

Actually, it is relevant that he's a SovCit. They're are crazy as MAGAs and are of the same stripe.

I have been WAITING for Lorinda and Stimpy to get together. Those two are definitely meant for each other.
I am LOVING this story and only wish there were two segments every week rather that just the ONE.
