I just showed all of these PSAs to my partner (who is younger than I am) and he marveled that we actually had such PSAs to teach children about their health.
Apparently, when he was growing up, it was just all commercial programming and none of this. :(
I have fond memories of Timer and the "hunk o' cheese" and the little popsickles my mom would help me make with the ice cube trays and toothpicks.
We watched the entire reel of these last night on YouTube.
OMG the ice cube tray thing! We had some good TV back in the day. This, Schoolhouse Rock, etc.... Timer, if I recall correctly, was originally a character in an Afterschool Special™ -- he was the tour guide for a "Fantastic Voyage"-style tour of the human body. (I may have hallucinated all of that.... does anyone else remember this?)
we've been forgetting to put it at the end of posts because we don't have a fast code for it anymore! Ima get Shy to link it over on the side of the homepage.

If so: I think when an article has its own chat room, the chat room link could be pinned in the comments. Then you get a full circle of navigational goodness.
Ok I made it and you are here. Now I'll wait for someone to reply to see how that works. Where do I see the replies so that I can respond to a response to my posts?
just checking to see if I did everything right in the switchover. I may have had two accounts before, based on thank-you notes received from Our Editrix having been received in two different email accounts over the years.
I think, just one subscription for now, under this name...so goodbye for now, uptown brothers
Ha we have to be just as nice in our non-comments as ever we were, because half of us have new names here and some also have new icons (like me, I just noticed, where is my Stefon?) so WE DON'T KNOW if you're new or not! Hi thanks for joining give Wonkette a little cash you won't regret it I'm pretty sure!
Timer had a pretty serious drug problem

where the fuck is the open thread?
Just testing to see if I’ve got this figured out. Please ignore this interruption.
Is anyone on Wonkette doing the mastodon thing?

Sis I just signed up for a monthly. Using that extra dollar an hour here in MT to do good. p.s. what's rent like in Detroit for a small apartment?
What took you so long my god

But, if we want a plain cheese sandwich, it's OK, right? I like plain cheese sandwiches.
I second this. If the bread and cheese are of good enough quality, then you don't need much else.
Were the "wagon wheels" with bread or crackers? I think Timer calls them "crackers," but it really looks like round bread in the video.
I miss Discus. Am I in the minority? There were always a lot of complaints about Discus.
It's different. Let's give it a chance and remember to go over to chat.
I predicted on the first day here that more and more people would be missing Disqus.
Substacks sucks, and is unlikely to get any better. I know why we moved, but it is sad.
Wonkette is less than it was.
I honestly do not see much difference other than the lack of pics
But I didn't do all the things other people did with embeds and formatting and what not
edit:except for the "New Comment button"
I do miss that
The devil you know...
Plain cheese grilled with a slice of tomato and pepper works.
Do you no longer encourage users to click through Wonkette en route to Amazon.com? I'm always glad to help, but I'm not seeing the link any more.

That's what I came to ask, too. Maybe an answer could be added to the "How to" post?

Is this the place to meta?

Same name here and icon (I had to dig into the weeds to find it).
