Enjoying a great day with my Maggie - sixteen going on seventeen with a lot of medical issues. The pain meds, instead of knocking her out, seem to have mostly knocked out the pain. I had to work yesterday evening - and she supurrvised, and occasionally pestered me for treats.
I think we're getting near the end of the process here as she is pretty medically managed right now. I consulted a hospice vet and they suggested writing down a pain score/quality of life score for her on the daily. That way when I see the hard numbers staring me in the face I will be readier to make an objective decision. I am thankful I am at home to attend to her.
