I remember Mom making "snow cream" in the winter when I was a young'un -- if the snow was deep enough she'd collect the clean stuff off of where it piled up on the picnic table and make sort of ice cream with it. Haven't seen it snow deep enough to be able to collect enough clean snow for a long time, though.
