A structural failure of a spinny thing sprays shrapnel in a plane orthogonal to the axis of rotation. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that we’re talking about a high-bypass turbine engine on, say, a 737. That orthogonal plane passes up through the wing and over through the fuselage. (And also down and away, but that’s less relevant here.) So you’d expect to see most shrapnel damage in the wing and the fuselage near the wing. Which is what the photos appear to show. An explosion of the kind that downed the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine shows shrapnel shooting in ALL directions — up, down, sideways, forward and backward — from the explosion.Even if I’m right, we can still speculate about WHY such an engine failed so spectacularly. I’m not ruling anything out. Just saying those photos don’t seem to support such a dramatic interpretation. There may be more that do.

Why does she want to "muddy things up?" Shouldn't she be hiding her wish to have someone come in and muddy things up between her and Kelly?
