With all their talk about President Biden's mental fitness, you'd think someone would question a guy's mental competence when he says he can't recall voting on something a year ago.

IOW, like Biden, Obama, Hillary C, and Bill C, but unlike Trump, Romney, McCain, and W-- unlike every GOP prez candidate after Dole. The GOP has nominated ONLY scions of privilege since '96.

A bunch of failed votes, weeks without a speaker and Commander Johnson was the best they could come up with because they were tired of looking. Or … maybe it was just the best they could come up with period. Republicans don’t belong in government.

“ Look, only in Washington can you cut funding, add a pay-for to a new spending measure, and they say it’s terrible for the deficit.”

Hey, bud? When the cuts you’re making are to the agency that brings in all the money, that’s gonna be bad for the deficit!

It’s kinda like if you decided your car was too expensive, so you got rid of your car, and then you didn’t have any way to go to work, and then you ran out of money. Oopsie!

So we’re to believe that Johnson gets a physical check from Congress, takes it to a check cashing store and pays all his bills with the cash?? Come on journalists, how hard is this?

TV journos have had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the point where they say "Congressman, I'm sorry, but you've just spouted obvious bullshit there," by a party that has been spewing obvious falsehoods since Saint Ronnie Trickle-Down. I want to say nice things about George here, but really, where the fuck you been with this, man? We could have used you 30 years ago. It's too late now.

"Don’t be confused: Both Habba’s statement and Trump’s post are about creating the basis for a motion for a mistrial. That’s where they are going."

i.e., they didn't STFU over the lunch break. I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the idea of a mistrial in a bench trial. The judge certainly isn't going to declare that on his own, and why would Tish James' people ask for one? PAB is digging himself a hole so deep that hell is looking down on him.

"I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the idea of a mistrial in a bench trial. "

Are you assuming these are people who believe despite the Iron Mountains of evidence to the contrary that literally no rules apply to them?

They don't care that a particular outcome is virtually inconceivable under the relevant laws.

They're still gonna try it anyway -- and then p*ss and moan afterward if they don't get what they want to a degree that if their chronology were also their emotional age, we'd let them hold their breath till they passed out and then put them down for the nap they needed so desperately

I can't believe the mockery they're trying to make of the justice system.

But of course part of that is the justice system's fault -- there's very little in their collective life history that would've indicated anything to them other than that as rich White people they could do what they wanted whenever they wanted and face no consequences as a result.

Of course they're especially frothymad at AG James, DA Willis, and Manhattan DA Bragg -- these are people who were trained in and believe in the precept that everyone is equal under the law

It's a new one on me, for sure! But I suppose if a witness for one side mentions things that were already ruled on or suppressed from the case, for example, it's possible. (Which PAB did.) But how does Kise ask for one when it's his own client who blew things up?

Very bizarre.

The judge, with tears in his eyes, might go up to Mr. Trump and say "Mr. Trump, everything you have said is true! I have been so unfair to you! I am now going to declare this a mistrial, due to me being so unfair and biased against you, rubbing stollen all over your election like that."
