Some time ago, wunderkind Ezra Klein (a "wunderkind" is from the German for "wonder" and "kind," and means "a wonderfully kind person") announced his wunderkind explainer website, Vox, and how it would explain and explain and explain and explain and explain. For some reason, this was considered more worthy of many millions of clams ("clams," a slang term for "money," is also known as "bread," "loot," "moolah," "filthy lucre," "whore diamonds" and "shekels," if you are a racist) than was the "explanatory journalism" provided by our own DDM and Snipy, probably because DDM and Snipy just lie all the time. Klein explainered that, in newsrooms, important stories are often referred to as

What is the different types of hasch out there? We all know that it's called the bionic, the bomb, the puff, the blow, the black, the herb, the sensie, the cronic, the sweet Mary Jane, the shit, Ganja, split, reefa, the bad, the buddha, the home grown, the ill, the maui-maui, the method, pot, lethal turbo, tie, shake, skunk, stress, whacky, weed, glaze, the boot, dimebag, Scooby Doo, bob, bogey, back yard boogie. This actually reminded me of the story where Nancy Reagan was ahead of Ronnie in the catered buffet line, and after she selected the roast beef, the server asked "And for your vegetable?".

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) classifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug, the strictest possible classification in the agency’s system. The classification means the DEA perceives marijuana as more dangerous than Schedule 2 drugs like cocaine and meth, and therefore enforces stricter regulations on marijuana than Schedule 2, 3, 4, and 5 drugs.
I think that this was the punchline for the whole section that Editrix quoted. The previous two paragraphs of D.A.R.E. text were the setup for it. They were intentionally cast in namby-pamby "gather 'round, children" style to drive home the hopeless derp revealed in the last paragraph.
The DEA places pot in the same category as heroin and oxycontin, in other words as a substance that is guaranteed to produce dependence if it is used. But given the fact that the most highly addictive drug by at least an order of magnitude on the market today (far more addictive and harder to quit than even opioids) is nicotine, a drug whose harmful effects on health not just for the user but also for those in the vicinity are very well documented, and which is also a drug that is primarily marketed to minors, it seems that the agency has been focusing all these years on the wrong weed.
I have never lost a single friend, or have even seen one harmed in any way, through their use of marijuana. I have lost several friends and relatives due to cigarette smoking, including my mother. I am as militantly anti-tobacco as any person can get. Nicotine continues to be one of the most heinous drugs of all time. And it is the dangerous drug that most directly marketed to children.

Maybe Ezra should have gotten high before writing that, so that it didn't sound like it was copy-pasted from Wikipedia.

For me, that's about an ounce of top grade specialty strain.
