Logic, how does it work?

It's not far, which is why I keep justifying why it's okay for me to drive him there. I'm such a sucker.

Get him a bike off of craigslist for $100.

He wrecked my car because he was drunk and/or otherwise chemically impaired coming home on March 18th (you know, after St. Patrick's day). So that's a $500 deductible on my totaled car plus my increased car insurance premiums of about $1500 a year, another $500 or so for the loss of my combined car+house insurance discount after my car insurance cancellation, another $500 that I loaned him a while back (for reasons), $2000 in attorney fees to deal with his DUI and however much never-calculated in gas/time to drive him around for the past year since he lost his license plus (I just discovered) another $1000 in Uber Eats/rides over the past not-quite year that he somehow managed to link to my bank account.

Very true. "Peace loving peoples" are often protesting too much.

If you must, I suggest you aim at the ground right in front of their feet: the ricochets will be like low-angle shrapnel that wounds and stops without killing or missing completely; unwanted collateral injuries are much reduced and, also too, less serious.
