I've been losing faith in things for years, ever since I bought a Levi's brand belt which disintegrated after a few weeks. I think what is happening is, when the founders or current management of a company sell out, the vultures move in. What is it that Mitt Romney did using Bain? "Private equity investment"?

Executives are no longer interested in building a company for the future; they instead manipulate it to "enhance" the CEO's and Board's personal portfolios.

Pyrex glassware; Levi's jeans; Craftsman tools; Gevalia Coffee Club; Hewlett-Packard; simple plumbing and wiring in new houses; just off the top of my head.
