'Rich Whitey' Only Polling At 2%, Somehow
With the exceptions of a "Rich Whitey Lady" now and then and the very occasional "Rich Black Guy" such as Barack Obama, in America the only people who win major elections are Rich Whiteys. So the only real surprise in this story about a guy named Rich Whitney suffering a typo that changed him to Rich Whitey on the electronic ballot is that he's not winning in a landslide. What's his problem, is he not really rich and white?
Talking Points Memo has this answer:
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the name of Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney is misspelled "Rich Whitey" on electronic-voting machines in 23 wards ....
And that's where we stopped reading, because if he was so rich and whitey, he sure as hell wouldn't be the Green Party candidate -- that's reserved for the merely comfortable whitey, with his graduate degree and 2008 Prius. [TPM/Sun-Times]
