Specter: Wah Wah Wah Wah, Wah-Wah Wah
Arlen Specter, the only US Senator who's actually played by the grownups from Peanuts specials, took a firm stand against the President and his reckless disregard for the constitution today.
"I would suggest respectfully to the president that he is not the sole decider," Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said during a hearing on Congress' war powers amid an increasingly harsh debate over Iraq war policy.
Other Specter highlights from the hearing:
* "I would maybe like to request permission to say very quietly that it would be nice if the president listened to the Senate."
* "I have sent the president an email with my phone number and a very polite request that he call me if he decides to do this surge thing."
* "We the Senate demand that the president act more convincing when pretending to care what we think."
* "I would suggest respectfully to the president that he his not the sole decider, because he's clearly not counting Dick Cheney."
