* Matthew Barney's ninth film in his Drawing Restraint series at the Hirshhorn. "Shot in Nagasaki Bay, the film is set aboard the Japanese whaling ship Nisshin Maru. On board is a vast sculpture of Vaseline entitled 'The Field', which continually transforms during the film, representing the oceanic theme of the work. The lead characters, known as 'The Occidental Guests,' are played by Matthew's partner Bjork and Barney himself." Free at 7PM. [Hirshhorn]
