WH Pool Report: Been Awhile Edition

In this White House pool report, the president goes to church:

The sermon, by the Rev. Spencer M. Rice, was about innocence, and how one must give up their innocence to achieve consciousness. The book of Hedrick Smith was quoted, along with Hegel, who said "the fall of man is the falling up to consciousness."
Afterwards, the president told the First Lady he hadn't realized that the senator from Nebraska had written a book.

The President of America was up bright and early for services at St. John's Church, across the park from the White House. Tens of other worshippers, including a Boy Scout troop from Midlothian, Ill., joined the president and first lady at the church.

The sermon, by the Rev. Spencer M. Rice, was about innocence, and how one must give up their innocence to achieve consciousness. The book of Hedrick Smith was quoted, along with Hegel, who said "the fall of man is the falling up to consciousness."

The president and first lady took communion, and soon after departed out the side door into the motorcade. "Good morning, everybody," the president said to the pool.

After holding back at the White House, the motorcade was off to Quantico for a bike ride.
