What Hath Stephanopoulos Wrought: The Interns Strike Back
For some reason, we're not quite tired of this. Reviewing for those who just tuned in: George Stephanopoulos sighting contains account of "bitchy staff assistant" [BSA]. Colleague of BSAwrites to counter notion , insults interns. Non-Hill personage responds with take-down of the whole Hill culture . Hill folks respond en masse , displaying varying degrees of humility. And now: The author of the original account has the final [?] say.
Not sure this is worth anything to you anymore, but I'm the kid who wrote in about the "bitchy staff assistant." I figure I might as well milk by 15 minutes of blog fame on Wonkette as long as it's worth. . .
An open letter from interns:
Sure, 93% of us are stuck-up, clueless, ungrateful bastards living on our parents' paycheck. However, I have gone to public school my whole life, happy hour consists of a 12-pack of PBR in my one-room apartment, and I have never been able to finish a sentence with "...while I was at the Hamptons."
I got the job because I was the geek who volunteered in his Congressman's office after school instead of playing football.
Anyways, I'll spare you the John Edwards commercial. Yes, the saying is true: Interns are worse than cicadas because they come out EVERY summer instead of every 17 years. But I'm still going to stick to my main point: That lady was a huge bitch.
Viva la interns!
On a related note, someone out there took up the Craigslist gauntlet thrown down by the poet behind "An Ode to Interns" and penned "An Ode to Bosses":
You are the worst things
to happen to Washington
Since the 10 cent metro fare increase
(you are even more useless)
They're using "ode" ironically, folks! It's hilarious irony! Now, back to work!
