White Southern Gals Realize Bush Is Blue-Bellied Yankee

Southern Republican women and their negroWhen Condi Rice favorably compared the disastrous U.S. occupation of Iraq to the American Civil War and somehow extrapolated that Abraham Lincoln also blew up 50,000 Iraqis, we just assumed it was the usual nonsense from the crazy lady.

But a weird new study proves Rice is actually half-right about something for a change.

President Bush's once-solid relationship with Southern women is on the rocks.

"I think history will show him to be the worst president since Ulysses S. Grant," said Barbara Knight, a self-described Republican since birth and the mother of three. "He's been an embarrassment."

In the heart of Dixie, comparisons to Grant, a symbol of the Union, is the worst sort of insult ....

Just so the Secretary of State grasps the full meaning here: They're still pissed off about losing their slaves, and the Iraq War reminds them of all they lost (slaves), and white southerners are starting to remember the Republicans started the Civil War, too.
