CBS News Bases Obamacare News Report On Lying Liar Darrell Issa, Because Who Needs Journalism Anyway?
It seems that CBS News has decided to celebrate Blovember. Unfortunately, not in any sexual way (sad face) but by blowing news story after news story. After the60 Minutes debacle, CBS decided to air more right-wing talking points, because who needs "facts" and unbiased "news," anyway?
Recently, CBS News reported that an Obama administration official was kept in the dark about serious flaws in the Healthcare.gov website, based on “partial transcripts” that they somehow miraculously received from the “House Oversight Committee.” GIANT RED FLAG GUYS!! We know the weaseling, beady-eyed ne’er-do-well in charge of this committee, and have proved time and time and time again that he is a lying ass-clown who should never be believed because of all the lies that come out of his mouthhole. CBS News, you make us sad.
What, exactly, did CBS News report?
CBS News has learned that the project manager in charge of building the federal health care website was apparently kept in the dark about serious failures in the website’s security…. The project manager testified to congressional investigators behind closed doors, but CBS News has obtained the first look at a partial transcript of his testimony.
Henry Chao, HealthCare.gov’s chief project manager at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), gave nine hours of closed-door testimony to the House Oversight Committee in advance of this week’s hearing. In excerpts CBS News has obtained, Chao was asked about a memo that outlined important security risks discovered in the insurance system.
Seriously, we can’t say this enough: WHAT THE FUCK, CBS?!?!1? Why, when everyone knows that Issa is a lying sack of derpitude, would you believe a partial transcript? Clearly the reason the entire transcript was not provided was because the point of leaking part of it is to show part of the truth. BE A GODDAM NEWS ORGANIZATION AND FIND THE WHOLE TRUTH OR TELL THE COMMITTEE TO GO FUCK THEIR PARTIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
With a simple phone call to the staff of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-2016?), MSNBC’s Steve Benen was able to find all of the truth:
I talked to a Democratic staffer this morning about the partial transcript and the aide said Issa’s staff “basically sandbagged this witness with a document he had never seen before and then failed to inform him that it has nothing to do with parts of the website that launched on October 1. In fact, it relates to a function of the website that is not currently active and won’t be until the spring of 2014. Rather than seeking out the truth, this press release tries to scare the public by capitalizing on confusion caused by the Chairman’s own staff.”
Did you catch that? The person trying to fix the website now was presented with something COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to the here and now, so it’s a good thing that this was not on their radar screen. If there is still a problem in the spring of 2014, hopefully this will rise to the attention of folks at the top. Until then, let's waste an official's time by playing a useless game of gotcha, how about that?
We understand the need to get the scoop. Hell, we got the scoop on human waste-of-space Betsy Rothstein leaving Fishbowl DC weeks before it actually happened. But come the fuck on, CBS. One phone call to the minority staff and you could have presented an actual news story about how Darrell Issa continues to care more about politics than any sort of actual Congressional duty.
So happy Blovember, everyone. In celebration, we sincerely encourage Issa to go blow a goat.
