Joe Scarborough was right. I'll explain, but first let's begin with Louisiana Senator and human Foghorn Leghorn: John Neely Kennedy. On NBC's "Meet The Press," Chuck Todd began by asking Kennedy for clarification about last week's idiotic assertions .
KENNEDY: Well, Chris Wallace was interviewing me and he asked me a question and I answered it. I thought he had asked me if Ukraine had meddled in the 2016 election. He didn't. He asked me if Ukraine was responsible for hacking the DNC computer, which is of course a form of meddling. I went back and looked at the transcript and I realized Chris was right and I was wrong, so I said I was wrong.
Despite the "I heard the question wrong" bullshit, it seemed to me like we were off to a good start now that Kennedy was done being an unwittingRussian asset.
I was wrong.
After Todd read some of the justified criticism he received last week, Kennedy proceeded to DO THE SAME FUCKING SHIT AGAIN!
KENNEDY: I think it's been well documented in the Financial Times, in Politico, in The Economist, in the Washington Examiner, even on CBS, that the prime minister of Ukraine, the interior minister, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, the head of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption League, all meddled in the election on social media and otherwise. They worked with a DNC operative --
Todd then tries to remind Kennedy of the same Dr. Fiona Hill testimony he ignored last week in a futile effort to get him to understand.
TODD: According to the New York Times a couple of weeks ago, US senators were briefed after Fiona Hill's testimony that actually this entire effort to frame Ukraine for the Russian meddling of 2016, of which you, you just made this case that they've done it, that actually this is an effort of Russia propaganda, that this is a Russian intelligence propaganda campaign in order to get people like you to say these things about Ukraine.
KENNEDY: Uh-huh.
TODD: They're trying to frame Ukraine. You apparently were briefed about this in the United States Senate by intelligence officials. Are you at all concerned you're doing Russian intelligence work here?
KENNEDY: I was not briefed.
TODD: You didn't attend that briefing?
KENNEDY: And now, listen, Dr. --
TODD: You didn't attend a briefing on that?
KENNEDY: No. And Dr. --
TODD: Okay.
KENNEDY: I wasn't briefed. Dr. Hill is entitled to her opinion.
Todd then tried one more time to get through to the esteemed senator, to no avail:
TODD: When does opinion, when does opinion become fact? Does 17 intelligence services saying it, does every western intelligence ally saying Russia did this? I'm just sort of confused, at what point is it no longer an opinion for you? […] I mean, my goodness, wait a minute, Senator Kennedy, you now have the president of Ukraine saying he actively worked for the Democratic nominee for president. I mean, now come on. I mean, I got to put up -- you realize the only other person selling this argument outside the United States is this man, Vladimir Putin. This is what he said on November 20th: "Thank God nobody is accusing us anymore of interfering in US elections. Now they're accusing Ukraine. Well, let them sort this out among themselves." You just accused a former president of Ukraine. You have done exactly what the Russian operation is trying to get American politicians to do. Are you at all concerned that you've been duped?
"BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA, YOU PASTE-EATING HILLBILLY GLUE-MUNCHER!" is what Chuck Todd should have uttered at the Russian senator from Louisiana as he chooses to believe debunked reporting rather than the explanation from experts in OUR intelligence community, even after given every opportunity to not look stupid. The REAL tan suit controversy!! youtu.be
Next we have the Congressman from Hee Haw Doug Collins on "Fox News Sunday." With the Intelligence Committee's impeachment hearings complete, it's time for Judiaciary Committee Republicans to get a chance to behave like twatwaffles on national TV. When asked by Chris Wallace about possible witnesses the Republicans might present, Collins begins with partisan hackery:
COLLINS: Oh, of course. We're going to testify. The first and foremost, the first person that needs to testify is Adam Schiff. Adam Schiff is the author of this report. [...]
Wallace, for his part, tried to hold in the immediate impulse to tell Collins to GTFO with that bullshit. Wallace then asked if Collins thought the White House would participate with lawyers and witnesses as Trump and Republicans like Collins and Kennedy have been bitching about for weeks. Collins inadvertently gave the answer we all already knew:
COLLINS: Well, I think they're still -- we're still looking at that but I'm going to have a question for you, Chris. Why would they want to participate in a -- just another rerun? We're back, by the way, in rerun season here in the Judiciary Committee.
Yep! After complaining about a not being able to "defend" themselves for weeks, Trump's White House counsel has stated that they won't participate . Trump may be a dumb fucking criminal, but he knows enough about the law (and media) to not perjure himself while making his case via Twitter and his white power rallies (just kidding, he does that all the time) while stooges like Kennedy and Collins do the actual work. That's exemplified by this mush of nonsense Collins tried to spew, rationalizing the July 25th extortion call (which even they aren't calling "no quid pro quo"anymore).
COLLINS: Well, again, if you look at the call itself, there was an overall discussion, which had been had previously, about others in discussion with Ukraine. And also, just go back to the fact of the president looks after our tax dollars, and the president is looking out for the fact -- was there problems there? When we look at this process, we do not see a president who conditioned anything. He just wanted the facts, whether it be the 2016 election, whether we're looking at -- of what was happening. He was looking at the fact of "Is there corruption, so I do not spend dollars that I don't need to spend in the Ukraine because of corruption that was still there."
If you think that sounds incoherent to read, here's the video.
Collins is just another in a line of Republicans willing to sink lower to stand by Trump rather than America.
The collective IQ of Republican politicians falls further every time one desperately tries to defend the indefensib… https: //t.co/rduvUUSrVm

Same with Senator Kennedy:
The former Florida congressman and husband of Mika may have helped heap this godforsaken narcissist upon us, but even he realizes the depths to which his party has sunk to grovel before Trump. Even when most of his takes are asinine, in THIS instance, Joe Scarborough was right about Doug Collins and John Kennedy. (Full Circle!)
Until next time, I'm going to go have a nice cup of joe' and watch how Judiciary Dems handle their Republican counterparts.
Have a week!
