Obamacare-Hating Republican Hates Republicans Now, Loves Obamacare
Remember how we told you all about Luis Lang, that idiot in South Carolina, who loves freedom even more than he hates his diabetes, so he did not purchase health insurance, take THAT, Obama? And now he needs surgery, and he can't afford it, and Obamacare enrollment is closed, and his Republican-controlled state refused to take Obamacare dollars to expand Medicaid for people JUST LIKE HIM, and it's all Obama's fault? Of course you do, you liberal do-goody bleeding hearts, because you went and gave him all your money on his GoFundMe page, like a bunch of liberal do-goody bleeding hearts. Even though he had always been SO PROUD of paying his medical expenses all on his own, and his awful terrible rotten wife, Mary, whined that her husband should skip to the front of the free money line, now that he needs it, and really, the two of them should fuck ALL the way off, forever, because going broke and dying is the Republican healthcare plan, which is what they chose, for freedom. But no, you people went and gave him your money anyway.
Well, guess what. After telling the Charlotte Observer that it was still somehow the federal government's fault, and he didn't see why all these liberals (YOU people) who wanted to save his stupid life for him had to turn it "into a political thing," he has apparently, belatedly, learned his lesson after all:
“Now that I’m looking at what each party represents, my wife and I are both saying — hey, we’re not Republicans!” Lang said. He added that, though he’s not a political person by nature and has never voted solely along party lines, he wants to rip up his voter registration card on national television so Americans will have proof that he’s making the switch.
Speaking for everyone, we are sure, we'd much rather he save the theatrics, thank everyone who cares about his life more than he does, and promise not to be A Idiot anymore:
“I put the blame on everyone — Republican and Democrat. But I do mainly blame Republicans for their pigheadedness,” Lang said. “They’re blocking policies that could help everyone. I’m in the situation I’m in because they chose not to expand Medicaid for political reasons. And I know I’m not the only one.”
We're glad he realizes that it's "mainly" the fault of Republicans for blocking Medicaid expansion, and we're also glad he's willing to acknowledge that it's a little bit his fault too, because he refused to sign up for health insurance, but this really isn't one of those "a pox on both your houses" situations. It is absolutely political, Republicans are completely to blame, and no matter how many voter registration cards Lang tears up on the teevee, he's still the perfect poster child for the Republican Party: a dumb greedy asshole who thinks "screw you" policies are great and all-American and extra freedom-y, until they hurt him.
Lang admits he and his wife "didn’t do it the right way" -- YA THINK?!?! -- and now he wants universal healthcare because hoo boy, that would REALLY save his dumb ass right now, as many of you people have yelled at him on his GoFundMe page, even while giving him your hard-earned dollars.
We hope Langdoesget that surgery he needs, and all the other surgeries he needs, and he lives for a thousand more years so he can spend them realizing what A Idiot he's been his whole life for voting for Republicans. Or at least saying thank you.

it's actually worse than that. in states that didn't expand medicaid, the people who don't qualify for subsidies are those UNDER 100% of FPL. b/t 100% and 138% (medicaid qualifying level or about 16K for a household of 1) you can shop on the marketplace and qualify for help. under 100%, if your redstate hellhole didn't expand medicaid you're out of luck and should consider leaving your red state hellhole.
