I've read in right wing websites that liberals try to rewrite history. Not only are republicans in Texas actually doing it, but they are doing it with the consent of the people (well most of them).

I thought it was Farrah Fawcett who cost them the nat'l champeenship in '69. (Wait. They won in '69 and '70, n'est ce pas?) Either way, Darrell Royal spent the rest of his life not buying his own beer at any bar into which he ventured in Austin and the surrounding areas.

The Texas State Historical Association has covered the history of slavery in Texas very thoroughly. It's worth a read and it should definitely be taught in Texas schools.
