I did my Sunday trudge to the fuel tank. If the dip is accurate, I burned 15 gallons this week, which is the most of used any week this winter. OTOH, I had a dip of 9 gallons last week, and 11 the week before that. So some of this may be just irregularities in measurement.
13 weeks left until the end of March. If I were to burn 15 gallons a week between now and then, which I don’t anticipate, that would be 195 gallons. I have 200 left in the tank, and I always like to leave a little reserve in there. I burned 44 gallons in December, so I think the 15 gallon a week average is very generous. OTOH, it could get really cold, and stay there, and then I might be burning more.
I could always buy another hundred gallons and then I would be abundantly supplied for the rest of the winter. I think it’s maybe just a point of pride to try to get through the winter on the one 300 gallon tank. Although it wasn’t quite full. And the truth is that I could heat this house on firewood, if I needed to, and I have plenty of wood. This is just me fretting out loud.
Any chance of getting a heat pump installed? It has changed our lives. We only light a fire in the wood stove when we're in the mood for a fire, not because we need the heat in the house. And I'm sure you'll be fine; you're staying on top of things.
Well now that is a very interesting concept. I don’t know of anyone in this area who uses heat pumps. We get temperatures here of 20 to 30 below F, sometimes colder. So I just assumed that was something that didn’t work up here. I did just take a little look-see on the net about that, and apparently some people do.
I paid through the teeth last year to get my boiler replaced, So I’m not eager to spend a lot of money on another heating system.
I know I’ll be fine. I’m just a little bit of a whiner. It’s my coping mechanism.
Right now I am staring at the side door of my woodstove, which is currently sitting on my dining room table. I thought that the gasket had failed. Closer inspection shows that it had just moved out of the groove that it’s supposed to sit on, just on one side.
I have gasket material and cement. I could shove it back in there and hope for the best or I could replace it. Replacing it is a bit of a pain in the arse mostly because the door doesn’t want to shut right away until you gotten the gasket tromped down a little bit.
The deliberate dumbing-down of this nation is exactly what was required to achieve the quagmire depths of derpitude necessary to put the stump-stupid likes of Wrong Johnson, SwampMarsha, and the traitorous Deposed Despot Drumpfuck in positions of power.
I can remember when it was COOL to have an education, dammit.
Again, I feel moved to warn you all. Celebratory gunfire is a genuine risk in the US on New Years. There are deaths and dozens of injuries caused by it. Avoid being out in the open at midnight.
Look, we have to fret about you and the saltwater crocodiles, and the snakes and the poisonous spiders, and the bad tempered Kangas, not to mention red bellied, black snakes and brain eating amoebae.
You have to trust us that we know how to dodge bullets. Been doing it since we were babies.
I am ashamed to admit that several decades ago after checking with the neighbors to make sure it wouldn't frighten anyone I fired my shotgun into our bull pine trees at midnight.
Even after all of this time I am still disgusted with myself for thinking that was an acceptable way to mark the New Year.
The kicker is, while there was coverage of Tuberville's antics here and there in the MSM, it just wasn't that big of a story. I doubt most people on the street had any idea what was going on. Had a Democrat pulled a stunt like this with the military, of course, it would have been the fucking apocalypse.
It's 4:00 pm Sunday in Chicago. Open up a tab to wdcb.org/internet-stream for the 𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰 𝘐𝘯𝘯 to hear two hours of Afro-Cuban music.
Here is WDCB's program description: "Host René Ávila carries a long tradition of Sunday afternoon Latin Jazz on WDCB into the future as he brings you along on a weekly trip to the 𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰 𝘐𝘯𝘯. Tune in every Sunday from 4 - 6pm for 2 hours of jazz with clave, as Ávila reaches back to the classic Afro-Cuban sounds of the '40s and '50s and explores Latin Jazz styles along the way to the current sounds of today."
Coach Tommy Tuberville.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Has the popularity of that stupid Tomahawk Chop started to wane (except for the Atlanta Braves nitwits)?
I’ve noticed that TV cameras try to keep footage of that shit to a minimum
They're too busy trying to get shots of Taylor Swift in the luxury box than the game, or anything else for that matter.

I hope it was just an upspike and your consumption goes down for the remainder of the winter.
Thank you. Either way, I’ll be OK.

Decision time. I think I’ll go eat lunch now.
Good plan.
Ron Johnson and #SwampMarsha are sooo glad this LowIQAnon is around.

We've got to stop talking about shooting various people into the sun. The wrong folks with the wrong equipment are, I think, taking us literally.
"We're just shooting into the sun, like you liberals are always talking about."
"But, it's night time!"
"Oh. Yeah."
But if I shoot a gun up in the air, the bullet comes down at a much slower pace, and therefore nobody could be harmed, correct?

G-bladder's on the Santos thread.
Well tell him to get off there before he falls and gets hurt.
“Are you going to Wencelas Square?”
“I said I would and I did.
Here are some pictures,
Although I’m not in them.
You know your Fukui would not fib.“
Did you meet the King? I think you have to follow his tracks through the snow....
How was the Good King?
Surrounded by police so he didn't get teabagged
They remember what you did last year?
Looks great.
Having mulled wine on NYE in an environment like that is a bit special.

Republicans would have run on the scandal for the next ten elections.
