I was expecting someone to say Hefner, but alas it never happened.

Martini Glambassador's avatar

Hophopner? OK, I had to stretch pretty far for that one.

Menotsure's avatar

I'll take it.

I’m nervous about sharing this, but here goes nothing!

Eggs I’ve decorated.... I wish it was as simple as depicted in the cartoon!

I'll guess you didn't use a Paas kit!

Froglooksfunny's avatar

No... but if you draw on the egg with a crayon first before the dye, it’s a similar process...

Wow! These eggs are absolutely fantastic! And I say that as someone who got waaaaaaaay too much into decorating eggs with the kids. (Glitter glue was our preferred medium.)

For anyone in the Cleveland area, the Ukrainian archive & museum in Tremont has pysanky classes in the lead up to Easter, and also entire walls of incredible eggs on display, some organized by style specific to particular regions within Ukraine.

Runfastandwin's avatar

I’ll be in Cleveland in June hopefully it’ll still be there.

Froglooksfunny's avatar

Thank you!

Glitter? That’s very brave of you 😂 it’s the décor that never goes out of style, if you know what I mean.

Oh my gosh, those are absolutely gorgeous! Pysanky wax technique?

Yes! And some are etched with vinegar and then gold leaf. Thank you so much! 🥰

Loved the Robocop reference

Martini Glambassador's avatar

I think this predates that by a few decades. 😆

Oh, I meant the “I’d buy that for a dollar” line. Maybe this wasn’t the place to post that.

GOP official who claimed 2020 was stolen voted illegally nine times, judge rules

A Georgia Republican official who pushed false claims that the 2020 election was “stolen” was found to have voted illegally nine times, a judge ruled this week.

Pritchard had been sentenced in 1996 in Pennsylvania to three years’ probation for felony check forgery charges. His probation was revoked three times — once in 1999, after he moved to Georgia, and again in 2002 and 2004. In 2004, a judge imposed a new seven-year probationary sentence on Pritchard, thus making him ineligible to vote until at least 2011 in Georgia, where state law prohibits felons from voting. This, few minutes later, when I had replenished the seed. It’s going to be a hungry day today.

Overcast today, and chilly. Started a fire in the woodstove so the cats would have their pleasure of sprawling by the hearth. Now I can go to work.

Media coverage of the little shitshow our folks (and others) were greeted with at the Oklahoma State Board of Education yesterday:

'This is the people's ground': Ties, electrical cord used to lock OSDE entrance

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — Officials used ties and an extension cord to close off the front entrance to the Oklahoma State Department of Education on Wednesday.

The decision drew concern from residents who set up outside the entrance ahead of Thursday's State Board of Education meeting.

Those gathered on Wednesday asserted the ties around the entrance's door handles even presented a fire danger issue.

FOX 25 also obtained video of a worker removing a memorial set up for the late wife of Sean Cummings, vice mayor of The Village, from inside the entrance doors.

"We are going to stand in line as our right of citizens and taxpaying Oklahomans to speak at this meeting and to be present at this meeting," asserted Erica Watkins, regional director for Defense of Democracy.

She arrived at the department at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday for a meeting that starts at 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Watkins shared that it's gotten harder to gain access to state board of education meetings and sign up for one of ten public comment slots.

"I believe we have a right as citizens to be anywhere we want to be on this ground... this is the people's ground," argued concerned resident Mike Howe.

Watkins accused the department of targeting members of the gender nonconforming community—and said she'd like to save a spot for someone who belongs to that group to address Oklahoma's top public education officials.

"We do want to have an ability... to speak as, you know, constituents and of parents that have kids in Oklahoma public school," added Watkins.

The concerned residents expressed concerns that the outside doors were blocking public access to the posted agenda on the interior set of doors—which they called an Open Meetings Act violation.

It's not so much the TurLobster itself that freaks me out; rather, it's wondering what other critters might be concatenated inside it.

Oh my goodness, I need a merkin dress!! I believe I could totally rock it with my wild hair.

But those other looks of Bjork, wow! *chef's kiss!* That woman is so fucking iconic. I do not think I could pull off the bug look but on her it's perfect.

Here's my periodic announcement that the best radio station in America is KUOM out of U-MN, serving the Twin Cities and anyone listening on the internet. It's the only radio station I know that plays Bjork several times a day, from all her different eras. <3
