Nah. There are so many chemicals in our drinking water it's hard to keep track of which does what sometimes.

I took her statement as it is written. Democrats do need to make mental health assistance more available. Not talking about the crazies that support Trump or the Q people. It's necessary. These people have real issues and shouldn't be ignored.

This was a legit helpful post, Robyn. You're right. I can do kindness and human stuff. It really is all we got and thankfully, the best we have to offer.

That is good, and accurate, albeit a bit wordy. I was looking for something a bit more pithy. 😁

I'm trying too, but it's hard sometimes. You are right about most insults being abelist, which I had never thought about before. Fortunately for us, the only young children are grandkids so they are not constantly around. Consequently, the nastier insults do tend to get used a bit when watching the news or having adult-only conversations.

Frankly, I'm surprised that one of our local trolls hadn't dropped by yet to accuse us of being "too politically correct."

I don't remember the exact definitions either, only that they were "medical diagnoses."

I find it interesting how language changes over time. I grew up in rural East Texas, and we used expressions in the 70's-80's that are just verboten today. For example, I've always used "sweating like a whore in church" to describe hard work (and because I sweat heavily). Nowadays, living in the city, I instead use "sweating like a thief in church" because it is more acceptable to people I associate with. There are some others, but that is probably the least offensive example. It's not "political correctness" but common politeness and courtesy.

Your language example of walking down dark streets is excellent, BTW. I will definitely be filing that away for later use.

I have thoughts on that, but none of them are fair or kind. 😁

I have a mental illness and I really don't need you, whomever you may be, to guide me through life. Take your high horse and gallop on to preaching to someone else. G'day. Au revoir.

That is a good point, 75% are not assholes of that ilk.

Not I, said Gus the Goose, but I have practiced the phrase "I don't talk politics" so well that family knows not to even try with me.

I get where you're coming from with this. So, my question is: What word (or words) would you recommend that we use to describe QAnon types?

Q people ARE stupid and bad

I have been mostly blessed with liberal immediate family. One aunt is "liberal" in a very rich, white, privileged Orange County type of way, where she likes to pretend that racism only exists here in the ignorant south and not in her part of California, heavens no, where the African-American population is like 2%. I like to do things like show her where To Kill A Mockingbird was most recently challenged in a public school (Santa Cruz, CA) and ask her when is the last time she interacted with a Black or Hispanic person who she wasn't giving money to in exchange for a good or service. So Thanksgiving is sometimes a little awkward, but not because anyone is debating whether Q is JFK Jr. or Jerome Corsi.

Maybe this has something to do with it?
