Once upon a time Jim Hoft, "the Gateway Pundit," said a very stupid thing. Some putz from the DSCC or DCCC or OFA or something, we don't know, it is lost in the mists of time, sent out an email saying "civility alert or something, teabaggers are waving signs with Nazi symbols on them!" Jim Hoft, "the Stupidest Man on the Internet," said he would give $3150 to anyone who could provide proof, as, he said, "THIS NEVER HAPPENED."
Given the size of the Sioux force and its allies, I'm not convinced they would have taken off. I think they wanted to fight.
A sidelight - do you think it possible that Frank Grouard fought with the Indians that day? (See "Flashman and the Redskins" - not the football team!)
I bring up the Little Big Horn when the right wing nutz scream about BENGHAZI! We don't know everything that happened in 1876 - why should we have all the facts about a skirmish in Libya that took place a few months ago?
<i>Oh, he wasn&#039;t trying to pass as a vet. He was doing so and didn&#039;t know it.</i>
You spoke to him; I wasn&#039;t there; and he did own up, which is something.
But permit me to remain a little skeptical. The practice among rightwingers of falsely claiming vet status is too widespread to ignore. In the eighties and nineties, when I spent a lot of time with Vietnam vets, it was embarrassingly rampant.
I don&#039;t pretend to have good radar for all the nuances of vet culture; I haven&#039;t been in those circles since Iraq War Part One. It seems to me, as a civilian, that vets may wish to wear other insignia for all sorts of reasons.
That&#039;s pretty far different from the politicized vaunting of military symbolism by people who have absolutely no intention of putting their own skin in the game, but who are ardent in their desire to put a shitload of other people&#039;s skin in. When this kind of false &quot;showing solidarity with the troops&quot; is used as a convenient code for all sorts of rightwing aims, it strikes me as exceptionally cynical and painful - even if done naively. /rantmode

Dude is obviously trying to get close enough to catch a clear view of the northern hemispheres.
If they were fundies, you probably gave them the RDA of Valuable Christian Persecution Points.
Salt. Salt is good, too....
You can&#039;t see the derpest for the trees.
Did the band-aid have a purple heart?
However - at least they were all just the right height!
&quot; They always say &#039;the guy was a loner.&#039; Of course he was a loner - he killed everybody he knew.&quot; ~ George Carlin
FTW!!1!!
I did not serve in the 7th Cavalry, but I do own an Arrow shirt.
(No disrespect intended - I just couldn&#039;t resist the old joke.)
From the photo it looks like all his thousands of Twitter followers showed up.
Was Lou Sarah there?
Or Flathead Lake, Montana.
I guess in Hoft&#039;s case it would be Fathead Lake.

He&#039;s <strike>psycho</strike> psychic.
Sheer determination?
(Hugs WLBH right back) I&#039;m trying not to think that school starts in 2 weeks. Aside from that, life is good. And you?
