I feel your pain… I really do…. And now it seems we’re all on our own. No more Boosters for the foreseeable future. Even some Dems are saying Covid is over…. No one seems concerned for the zillions of Immunosuppressed and “Old” folks like me (69 in a few months). It seems we’re just Collateral Damage, or Human Sacrifices for the god of Capitalism, or just canon fodder. It’s disturbing to say the least.

I intend to mask for the foreseeable future; maybe for life. But I’m not a child in elementary school.

And the there is the "mind your own biznatch" thing as well. Masking also helps to discover people to avoid.

The resort I work at is dropping nearly all their covid-related stuff. No more masks, no more proof of vaccination for the guests, nothin'

And you can bet your sweet bippy that employees are starting to be pressured to come into work if they're sick too (they were actually being quite good about that for the last couple years) which is a MAJOR bummer...

Sorry Shy. Sorry Becka. And most sorry for DR. People suck, and I hate to say it but that ain’t going to change.

I might use that. Although really hoping it won’t become necessary. Hoping the wheelchair will make make me a less delicious quarry for these shitty bullies.

Up until the federal gov't has covered hospital Covid costs. The only upside to congress ending emergency Covid funding is that all these intentionally sick people are going to start getting BIG hospital bills. Leopards ate your face, MFs.

I do it for two reasons (legitimate ones, I think).1-I am fully vaxxed, and while I am unlikely to die of it, I can still get it and pass it to the nudniks who refuse to get vaxxed, and I am unwilling to do that, AND:2- It pisses the locals off here in conservative, lala land, Yahootah.

My brother in law, who is very conservative (yet fully vaxxed and wears a mask) was flabbergasted to hear this. He seems to have lost contact with what his comrades are thinking.

We used to go to Victoria to get our "culture fix" when we lived in Courtenay.

We are going to be seeing a lot of Magats with dementia, prematurely.

I don't think we'll be able to tell the difference though.

I feel for you guys and every other sensible person trapped in a crazy sector of the country. Masks went optional last week in NY, but I still see them everywhere. More masked than not and I'm grateful for that. I'm a nurse and will continue to mask basically forever as far as I can see. I still work with a few covid patients every week, so it's the polite thing to do for people around me. Plus I haven't been sick in two years, not just covid but not sick with anything, so I'm pro-forever mask.

I think I read a thread posted here from twitter that said because of the masks and other responses to covid, some flu variants are extinct as they've not been seen in a couple of years. These are the ones that had no other hosts and were only passed human to human.

I'm not giving up my mask.

I guess I do too. I’ve been assuming at some point with wave after wave somebody in some government, up here in Canada where we didn’t used to be completely fucking insane except for Alberta, the government will start doing the textbook things. And cases will finally fall to zero and stay there. Until the next flareup.
