Gathering nesting material and trying to decide which hole in the cliff sparks joy.

I never realized before looking at this map that the Kuril Islands extend so far south near Japan – it's just 24 km from Russian Kunashir to Hokkaido. Japan has some very beautiful seabirds in that area, including tufted puffins. https://www.saiyu.co.jp/en/blog/wildlife_japan/tag/tufted-puffin

Wonderful puffin lede. Luv puffins. For other Wonks that do, go to the outer isles of Ireland and Scotland.

This is a Dick Joke Emporium. The very least I would expect would be a great big cock.

Fun fact: Male boobies have dicks.

Atlantic puffins (maybe all?) have serrated bills, all the better to hold sandeels, their main diet, with (or nest material, I suppose). So a puffin looks for a mate with a big bill, to feed chicks. The record is ... 83!

One of the best perks of my job as a commercial fisherman in the waters of Kodiak island is that I’m around both Horned Puffins and their cousins the Tufted Puffins all the time. They are beautiful and amazing creatures that I never get tired of watching and marveling at.

Sounds like CBS is losing what few good reporters they had left, and CNN will not be too far behind. All of that talent needs someplace to go to.

How does a person go about setting up a 24/7 news podcast based upon the 1980 CNN cable network model with the ethics of CBS news back in the day, and the investigative chops of 60 Minuets, Washington Post, and NYT in their prime?

If it's going to happen, now would be the time.

We need to reinstate the Voting Rights Act with the stipulation that it non-Judicatable. Or maybe impeach Roberts, Thomas and Alito for corruption. They've all taken money from people with business before the court, That's is just wrong.

Am I the only one who feels like we are living in Idi Amin’s Uganda with the level of undisguised corruption and stealing of resources for the dictator?

This may not work for them - in Idaho the ranchers and farmers are getting sick and protesting the culture war issues that dominate Republican politics and are causing them to lose power while Trump is actively screwing them. A backlash is forming that may keep them away from the polls or if Talarico can show them he is for Ag business , may make them vote for him.

Vulture capitalists come in all sizes, they don't all have to be behemoths like Blackrock. I live in a small village with about 750 houses in it, and suddenly 11 of those belong to one person. I hate what he did with the one next door to me. Cut down trees and paved over former landscaped areas, converted the detached garage to another rental, and put high intensity security lights everywhere. This used to be an affordable alternative to the mountain resorts nearby. Not so much now.

"It is inherently non-political, it is a celebration of our country," Freedom 250 spokeswoman Julia Friedman told The Hill on Friday. The framing contradicts the words of Freedom 250's own CEO, who was appointed in December by Trump to lead the organization and in a statement said he was grateful for the opportunity to "execute the president's vision."
