Now I'm going off to enjoy the start of my NH vacation.
Saw mention of Terry Pratchett and Discworld. A couple books in that series I consider underrated are Moving Pictures and Reaper Man, the latter being close to a solo adventure for Death. My favorite would prob still be Guards! Guards! the first adventure of Samuel Vimes and the Night Watch.
I started reading Sir Pterry’s Discworld books in order from The Colour of Magic. The Tiffany Aching books aren’t my favorites. Maybe Good Omens? You could cheat and watch the series. It’s not Discworld, but it’s terrific.
I strongly applaud the Ursula Le Guin recommendation.
Also, I don't have a master's degree in Zookeeping or anything, I've never even had a class in Zookeeping (full disclosure) but I don't think those guys are up for dealing with an actual polar bear yet.
