Aaron Schock, the sexy darling wingnut from Illinois, is not gay again, despite recently surfaced news that he has had his entire congressional office redecorated to look like the dining room on the Downton Abbey teevee program: Bright red walls. A gold-colored wall sconce with black candles. A Federal-style bull’s-eye mirror with an eagle perched on top. And this is just the Illinois Republican’s outer office.
So, not wanting to get all "we pay your fucking salary", but how can it be a "crisis" to take pictures of a fucking Congressman's fucking office, that was paid for by fucking public fucking money?
That's the Downton Dining Room? They are copying MY dining room - I was first. We don't have the wall sconce thingie, but we do have a golden candelabra. Also bookcases. And prints of 19th century art, as well as a couple of watercolours from Venice (the real one, not the yank one). We were going for Georgian on a budget.
I assume that Dr. Rey's handiwork has made it into several men's mags.
Those are there for manly dude reasons, you see, those represent all the different sportsball teams that are named for birds, like the Orioles, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Ravens, Seahawks, Falcons, and Eagles! Pfff, who can't see that?!
The general provision goes on to state that a Member, officer, or employee may accept from any other source virtually any gift valued below $50, with a limitation of less than $100 in gifts from any single source in a calendar year...The term includes gifts of services, training, transportation, lodging, and meals, whether provided in kind, by purchase of a ticket, payment in advance, or reimbursement after the expense has been incurred.
What a shock - an ethics violation.
Oh, and how did Rep. Schock vote on funding public television (where Downton Abbey airs)? Take a wild guess.
“It’s actually based off of <strike>the red room in ‘Downton Abbey,’</strike> the whorehouse in 'Gone With the Wind' ”
Is Michelle Dockery going to be involved in this in any way? Asking for a friend who finds her icy haughtiness as "Lady" Mary Crawley kinda irresistibly hawtt.

Does LL Bean or Cabela count?

I think I would do the Red Room from Twin Peaks
I love those.
You know, the Ph.D. really does show, sometimes. I now have wine in my sinuses.
Flashback to the CBS(?) "special" on Marin County, back when I lived in Marin County.
(Okay, that was peacock feathers, but same-same).

FIFY
Irresponsible not to speculate: Reporter banned from the inner sanctum for fear that the rotating bed could give the wrong impression.
If elected, I'm going to try to replicate the set from The Price Is Right.
I'm thinking maybe Dr. Who? Or Star Trek? But only if I can get a bunch of cos-players to be my clerks.
