WHAR Chuckles and Jeffries? Are they paying attention? This is the kind of energy we need. None of this "look forward" and "don't want to get even" nonsense.

Dear GOP:

Fuck you and the treason you rode in on.

Sincerely,

America

Graciousness is for those who fight by the Queensbury rules. When you get as nasty as you can and fucking make it personal, there ain't no broken tooth smile, no handshakes, no jolly good pip pip.

He returned their energy and they fucking hated it (well deserved I might add.)

This is good, this is great, this is the medicine we all need. Moar please, I’m greedy like that.

I'll say it again: Jeffries and Schumer need to go. They're going to blow the momentum of this election and piss off all the people who showed up and voted for meaningful change, and that will tank us in '28.

When someone fainted during Amy Acton's victory speech, she stopped the speech to go and help the person (1), because she's a doctor. Remember when someone fainted in the Oval Office and the felon stood up because he was mad that he wasn't the center of attention anymore and then just stood there like an idiot while others ran to help?

There's a message here that I think voters have glommed on to.

I love that we finally have a Senator who is what most on the Right thought was a contradiction, or an impossibility: a liberal Muslim. It's *so* important that people recognize and support this movement - which isn't really new, by the way. It's been a thread within Islam from close to its beginning, and became a powerful movement over a hundred years ago.

It's important, because fundamentalist, repressive Islam *is* genuinely scary. ISIS, Boko Haram, Salafism, the Taliban - these are worse than almost any Christian fundamentalist groups, at least in terms of their actions (in terms of rhetoric, it's hard to beat something like the Westboro Baptists for sheer assholery). But Islam is NOT a monolith, and I'm so glad to see someone with what appears to be obvious humanity and compassion representing the faith.

What this election showed Birb is that yes, there are still some good people out there.

Anna-Elizabeth's avatar

Yes there are, and it's not always easy to remember that.

It wasn’t just gloating. It was unbothered gloating. This man has a nearly inhuman ability to keep his charming sense of humor in the face of the entire Republican Party, a massive foreign influence campaign and a “”democrat””’s attempt to go soap opera villan with a big floppy hat.

He has the most superhuman political skill since another spiritually Muslim president of the past, and if anything he keeps it real easier in contrast to Barry Bams almost Vulcan like tendencies.

Talk yo shit Abdul. This is the energy I want from the entire Democratic Party. One who is not afraid to announce they’ve won and plan to govern

Look, Brooke, there is no such thing as climate change. Just because Pagosa Springs, CO or Hurricane, UT washed away in a flood, doesn't mean the climate changed. Sheesh. (sarcasm)

Glorious! Simply glorious.

You know what else is glorious? The front page of the NYT is one big children's treasury of REPUBLICANS IN DISARRAY stories. I love the smell of Schadenfreude in the morning!

"Combative" is 100% on target ... and exactly what El-Sayed and other Dems will have to be after they're sworn in. Anyone who thinks this fight is over is fantasizing, because the cretins who have been dismantling the US for years to line their own pockets will use every ploy they can to delay, obfuscate and obstruct. They'll continue to hide evidence, clog the courts with spurious claims, flood the media with misinformation, make back-channel deals with America's enemies, and burn every procedural bridge they can behind them as they retreat.

We're in for a long, slow slog of a battle to remove the Republican rot, from President Pedo Pal on down. Let's join arms and enter the fray.

Anna-Elizabeth's avatar

This. We need combative. Freedom isn't free, and being "collegial" with Fascists and pedophiles is capitulation.

... and a few states over, Laura Loomer immediately burst into flames and burned to death of spontaneous combustion, so sad...

Oh, I wanna believe! I am fortunate that my imagination is occasionally vivid. It'll have to do.

The more that the good Senator reveals, the fonder I get of Senator Abdul El-Sayed. Educated, worldly, savvy... empathy and intelligence, curiosity and... stone cold for real justice, not theoretical , not philosophy class "justice", but 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵. Designed to remedy the acute injury, certain and strong enough to intimidate those thinking of harming the rest of us. Unafraid of people noticing he just 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 be taking a few things personally is marvelous.

I've said it before. I want to be right on the cusp, I want future historians to have spirited debate, "Did they go 𝘵𝘰𝘰 far in seeking an end to the fuckin' 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘦 of corruption wrought by the worst president ever?"

Look, declaring war because you thought it would save your regime the way that 9-11 saved Bushco should be a capital crime. They have been reducing the innocent to penury, deporting them to countries they've never been... Turnabout being fair play might be subject to debate, but nobody questions its satisfaction. Society could use a little good, wholesome satisfaction

A proposed trial of a hepatitis B vaccine on newborn babies in Guinea-Bissau has been cancelled following accusations that the trial was "unethical" and "neocolonial".

The trial was funded by the US, under Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has a long record of expressing scepticism about vaccines.
