My aunt just started chemo last week. The doc called in a script for a nausea medicine. She went to pick it up and it was $300 because the doc didn't put a diagnosis on it. Like cancer patients are selling nausea meds on the black market. Fuck them, as if cancer isn't bad enough.

Remember what Senator Cassidy of Louisiana said when addressing bad mortality rates for women in his state: “If you correct our population for race, we’re not as much of an outlier as it’d otherwise appear.” He's still a Senator and will remain so because Black people don't vote like they need to in Louisiana. A testimony to a century worth of voter suppression.

Same goes for money spent on police and perceived rates of crime: there is no correlation between the two, but people BELIEVE there is, so when they read that their municipality has increased the police budget or hired more cops, they say that "crime has gone down" (even when it demonstratively has not). The reverse is also true, as all the hysteria about "defunding the police" (which didn't happen anywhere) proves.
