Hasn't been that long, at least in Iowa where TMK lives, since one had to ask Pharmacist for it bc it was kept behind the counter like the Sudafed. Dunno why, but she actually had to sign for it at one place. There were lots of other folk around, she was mortified. Pissed me off. Because of course the mortification was the point.

I've seen the "educational" materials they supply at those crisis centers. They do in fact have a tiny set of plastic/rubber models showing what the "baby" looks like at 6 weeks. It is just like you say, tiny fingers, big doe eyes. Total bullshit.

Yes, good points. In most Evidence of Coverage documents/Benefit Summaries for U.S. health insurance the term "elective abortion services" is used. As if there is any other kind. Frankly, it shouldn't even be called out in the list of covered services and should be counted as a general outpatient procedure. There is no need to create a separate line item for it.

Part of this issue is that "women's health" is treated differently than men's by the insurance companies. We are the "other" because we aren't men. The other part of the issue is that in the eyes of many lawmakers, we are breeding stock.

the existence of people like rep. scott desjarlais is proof that R men don't really have a problem with abortion, so long as it serves their purposes.

Again, to quote Ezekiel 37:5&6, “Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
