You cover up your dirtypillows with a long-form birth certificate, young lady Remember back in the day when Congress passed the "motor voter" law, which gave all American-made cars the right to vote, or at least required states to provide voter registration to people getting drivers' licenses? Passed in 1993, it was one of those crazy attempts to increase voter participation by making it easier for people to vote, which is a terrible thing of course because then the wrong sort of people might start voting.
I'm referring to the mentality. Idaho wasn't even a state, but we have a metric fuckton of confederate mentality here. Also, pretty sure the Kansas bushwhackers weren't on board with the rest of the state. Perhaps their descendants are behind these efforts?
Voter ID is designed as a sort of subtle poll tax. Since that is clearly illegal, states that want to require voter id ought to be, in turn, required to guarantee that acquiring such an id is zero cost to the voter, including reimbursement of any time taken off from work, travel costs, and so on (and charging for any mandatory pictures or whatever is right out).
Ha. I worked on a proprietary electronic voting machine's software, twenty years ago. That system's prolly been retired. But based on that experience?
There is nothing bad that can be said about electronic voting systems that could not be defended against a charge of libel in court. Truth is an absolute defense; the systems absolutely suck.
OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Since most places accept a valid driver's license as legal ID, why doesn't Kansas do the fair thing and require every single person who wants a driver's license to bring in their birth certificate or passport? Or would that inconvenience and piss off too many of the wrong fucking people?
Another limerick from Playboy:

If Scalia was murdered by those pillows, I wanna be next!
Or, be elected to the legislature in the first place
I register and/or change my address right on election day. Just carry my passport and a recent piece of official mail. Oh, Canada indeed!

Not all in Kansas. There were plenty of Confederates in good old Kansas.
I'm still waiting to see all the cases of this in-person voter fraud we must be protected from.
