I had an awful nightmare that the vote yesterday was split straight down party lines and failed, and then a bunch of Objectivists with assault rifles started mowing people down while yelling about people coming to take their guns.

Well, Kirk is in a rough reelection campaign in Illinois. Hence, the reason for his vote. This has nothing to do with ideals. These A-holes are completely lacking in integrity.
I have to say I'm glad for Wonkette because this article was how I was able to correct some FB friends who were upset that the Maryland Senators voted against two of the gun control bills. They voted against the Grassley and Cornyn amendments and my friends didn't clue in that those were the shitty NRA approved amendments.
There's a whole subculture of asswipes who think that every massacre and nightmare attack you could name - from Sandy Hook to Paris to Orlando and beyond - is "staged" by "crisis actors," and who spend their days sharing bogus videos and claims as if they were factual, and keeping the confirmation bias flowing.
I recently had a run-in with a friend who is no longer a friend over the whole "it was a hoax" bullshit...it left me feeling very punchy about those assholes.

Basically, they're taking all the panels and activities, cramming them into a framework, and hitting them with whatever is handy (like Jeremy's phone because screw that guy) until they fit. Then they'll let the panelists know and release the schedule within a day or two of that.
Also, they use an app called guidebook, so as soon as the schedule is released, you can use that to plan your personal itinerary.
