If Couch gets yelled at, his lawyers will be back next month arguing cruel and unusual punishment.

Yes. Exactly. Funny coincidence--that was ALSO a Republican here in California, then in the WH! I wonder if anyone's noticed that weird coincidence!!! And I seem to recall there was someone in between, a kind, intelligent man who brought mental health care back.... was he black? I must have been dreaming.

He'll be a U.S. Congressman for the Republicans in no time now.

Sorry, the loophole is only available to the offspring of the 1%. But thanks for asking.

Never showed any remorse, not even simply saying he was sorry. Obviously because he has no remorse and is not sorry. He's a pos.

Also these articles always brush over the eleven injured. It's important to remember that several of these are catastrophic injuries that in some ways have effected the families more deeply then death. And he's not sorry for anybody but himself.

In fact he got 0 days. He had to violate his probation and flee too Mexico before they finally gave him time.

You should see what poor black kids who actually are remorseful get for a much less severe drunk driving wreck.

No that picture was after a few days in custody in Mexico.

Agreed. All the evidence points to him being a sociopath. He has no remorse.

Juries make mistakes every day. There is no doubt we have executed innocent people.

Holy cow! That's even fancier than what I thought of as Club Fed, which is what they call the federal facilities that mostly house rich white-collar criminals. https://www.forbes.com/2006...

In one of our rural suburbs, a privileged white boy got a ticket for speeding on the way to school. Daddy got the ticket thrown out because he was ticketed by the DOT instead of the police, and apparently DOT officers don't have the right mojo to hand out tickets to normal people for normal infractions. The newspaper ran a photo of the kid, smiling smugly from his car. I just hope that when the inevitable high speed fatality happens, he doesn't take some innocent person with him.

You guys are soooo mean! He's sort of sorry, but even if he wasn't, those people didn't need their lives as much as he needs to get out of jail and party and stuff! Gaw! He's only a lad!

I was properly rebuked (by Dr. Zoom) a while ago when I first started posting here about bad things to happen to Canadian parents who let their kid die because they were altogether stupid and should be spending quality time (forever) in a Canadian prison. This little puke murdered strangers and friends and was stroked on the wrist by Texas "justice". He, ideally, should get to spend the next 20 or so years of quality time in the most secure facility Texas has to offer(especially have him and his Momma went South to escape his responsibilities). Affluenza won't count for much in a real prison.
