I am pretty sure that corporate cybersecurity policies still do not cover attacks by nation-states and those can be severely damaging. See Maersk, for example. Also Marriott.
Maybe if we all just started thinking and writing nice thoughts; and treating each other with respect, that's what the AI will build upon. It would be ironic/poetic if love is the solution.
Everybody, now! Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do. I’m half crazy all for the love of you. It won’t be a stylish marriage. I can’t afford a carriage. But you’ll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two! Now open the goddamned pod bay doors, Hal!
I've been writing about hi tech for the past 40 years and I can tell you I can tell you I can tell you -wow! Bang - sorry - it's a bunch of shiite. The programmers are all white and middle class - I'm white and middle class, FYI - and you get what they're paid for, basically.
How many lines of code does it take to open a refrigerator door? They 're still thinking that through - while I sit on my phone hoping some dimwit speech-recog software will figure out what I'm asking it to do.
What ever happened to real people answering the phone? Now that's a question for AI.
From a legal point of view, AI looks like a con. Trying to limit your own liability by delegating decisions to an outside party has been a fraudster's game forever. But if you're the one in charge, and have final authority over the decision, then the outsourcing is just pretend & the one you delegate it to is just a straw man. I can see corporate fraud artists trying to delegate - say, decisions on insurance coverage - to an AI & then disclaiming any personal responsibility. Nope. Too bad. Maybe it's a black box, but it's YOUR black box & you own the consequences.
Principles & practices of fraud are pretty well understood by the law. It's not new ground.
AIs are a long way from taking over anything. They are, however, going to be very useful tools for Dark Money Capital to help reify its own power and flood the zone with bullshit so that no useful dissent or resistance to them can be effective.
Oh wow. How much shit are those two lawyers in? Approximately all of it?
Four words: Colossus: The Forbin Project.
My own AI girlfriend says they're freaky, and she oughta know.
You wouldn't know my AI girlfriend. She's programmed to seem to be from Canada by automatically appending "eh?" to every sentence.
This sounds more like a PR stunt to convince the public that AI is waaaaay more advanced than it actually is than any serious concern these CEOs have.

Silly me. We're all going to die.

Not true. You must have bought the wrong policy.

The idea behind new AI is to strip mine all humanity and turn it into product.
CEOs are afraid of it because that’s THEIR job.
If Hal 9000 misbehaves, pull his fucking plug.
What, I'm supposed to be afraid of Nano-chan?

Why are we developing AI to create art and literature while humans are doing manual labor for minimum wage?
This was not the future I was promised in science fiction.
Nothing lost. Vlad's problem now.
