So here is a tale of justice of sorts: Joe Rickey Hundley, the former executive from Idaho who slapped a crying toddler on a Delta flight as it was on approach to Atlanta last February, has been sentenced to eight months in federal prison for the assault. He had pleaded guilty in October in a plea bargain that was supposed to have given him a six-month sentence, but the judge gave Hundley more time because he had a previous criminal history including an assault. And also, who the hell slaps a baby and yells “shut that n****r baby up” while doing it? Oh yes: this guy.
8 months in prison for slapping a baby? Silly fellow: if he'd killed the kid instead, he'd have been acquitted.
The NRA is right: if only they'd let us bring guns onto planes this sort of tragedy would not have happened. Now, a grieving father is in jail. Is there no justice?

I can sympathize with him being distraught over his son. Yet he could have told the mother to cherish her son because someday she may find herself on an airplane ready to give <i>anything</i> just to hear her baby cry one more time.
