"just 11 million on the exchanges, and another 13 or so million covered by Medicaid expansion, so really, an expendable number of people"https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

That's just you (well, us) wooly-minded liberals misunderstanding the Great Man. He said that Republicans have always protected people's pre-existing conditions, and that's certainly true! They make sure we get to keep the conditions.

Now, insurance coverage of those conditions, that's something else. Obvious socialism, is what it is, and no profitable company should be forced to pay money when some slob gets sick, right?

"We tried a market-based system -- devised by the Heritage Foundation, FFS!!! -- and it worked okay where it wasn't sabotaged by Republicans. We gave them the chance to act in good faith, and they failed, miserably. So, we have no choice but to remove the ability for them to sabotage it."

I am discouraged daily to see that the Orange Overlord hasn't keeled over yet from a rage-induced stroke or a clogged-artery heart attack. I'm starting to believe that maybe he is the "healthiest president ever" (signed Epstein's Mother), and he once again will live this incredibly charmed life free of any consequences whatsoever. Damn, I hate him.

Sadly, I'm not 100% sure this kid's family would even notice. That's what makes it worse.

There is a story that the CIA got a hotel room underneath some Russian leader's (Gorbachev?) suite and diverted the plumbing to capture his shit for analysis.

I'm only covered bc of the Medicaid expansion, and w/out insurance to cover my very expensive meds, I'd likely be dead within a year. So yeah, I can't wait to see what the GOP pitches when they overturn the ACA.

well, way back when I was a yout, there was a book called Bladerunner (the move ripped off the name because they felt most people could not grasp "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep") anyway I believe the idea behind it is what the GOP lusts over.which is the protagonist ran medical supplies to people who did not want to go to hospitals because if you were not insured you would be sterilized, adults and children alike. hence "Bladerunner".. not quite a Max Max kind of world, still infrastructure, but a moral hellscape

Speaking of drug commercials... I am a "baby boomer", so most of those goddamn ads are aimed at my generation and I. So, I decided long ago, that if I am ever president of this country, my first official act will be to sign an EO outlawing pharmaceutical ad on television. Besides being irritating, (when they came up with Latuda, I knew they'd run out of names and were just making shit up), they also drive up the cost of drugs.
