I have a side gig running a small DIY cassette label. I don't have them professionally duplicated, I make them at home using consumer electronics, I make the covers by hand. Last week one of my dubbing decks fritzed out, bye-bye. Currently business is good so getting a replacement deck was essential. I don't know of any shops locally that sell cassette decks so eBay here I come. I saw a number of decks that looked appropriate and I got a bit carried away with myself and bought 4 decks instead of 1. One of them arrived yesterday so I took it for a test run and it worked great. Today the other 3 decks arrived, I haven't even opened the boxes yet to check them out. I just had a nice meal and now I don't feel like doing anything. Plugging them in and making copies is tomorrows work.
Yesterday was the birthday of Creedence Clearwater Revival drummer Doug Clifford, and today is the birthday of their bassist Stu Cook, who's turning 82 years old. Here's the band on the Ed Sullivan Show performing "Down On The Corner":
"The families of more than a hundred children killed when a missile struck an elementary school in Iran have penned a letter of grief and gratitude to Pope Leo XIV, who has repeatedly criticized the loss of innocent lives in the war with Iran.
An investigation by the U.S. military determined that the United States was responsible for the Tomahawk missile that destroyed the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school in the town of Minab, on Feb. 28, the first day of the war, killing 175 people, according to the preliminary findings of the inquiry." -- NYT
A sane person looks at things that have been standing for hundreds to thousands of years, with NO FUCKING GOLD, and you are just taken with images of what times were like and how this all came to be experienced by your insignificant self today.
Evidently the crisis in military leadership is worse than just a few getting sacked. Trump is dissatisfied. He wanted a quick victory. Logically, it could take years and still be uncertain.
Honestly I think one of the saddest things regarding Alex Jones is that he is no longer remarkable. There are too many big name proudly ignorant conspiracy theorists just shooting their shit on the Internet and make it a ton of money doing it. There is nothing unique about him anymore.
I don't know, "Internet loudmouth who owes a massive amount of money for defamation they're never actually going to pay" is sadly not that small of a category...
"‘Silent suffering’: Why children in Gaza are losing their ability to speak
An estimated 1.1 million children in Gaza now need mental health and psychosocial support, as a growing number lose their ability to speak due to trauma and injuries from Israeli attacks."
OT, but weekends are open thread, so says I. Question: If you go under partial sedation for a root canal, is that a trance & dental state?
Wayhey!
A bit shouty so listen with care.

A suggestion. Make Jones pay in cash. If he can't pay in full, take what he has and put his ass in prison. He's dragged out paying up way too long.
Whar indentured servitude?
Did Alex forget to put on his Boobie Gem Pasties?

A couple of years ago I noticed a lot of decks at my local thrift store. A Veterans store.
At least the name is.
goddamn rubber belts.
I had a (REALLY) nice Harmon Kardon cassette deck that I eventually recycled because the generic replacement belts just don't work.
It was one of these:

I will reserve judgement on this takeover until I receive my first spackle bucket of survival waffle batter from the new Info Wars owners.

"people." Don't want to be mean and call them little girls.
And humanize women? As if.
"Only" 160-something of them were little girls. The rest were adults.
They were asking for it dressed like that.
Secretary of Warcrimes Hegseth.
I have a great idea.
You know what would be real convenient? One bank for everything.
Checking, savings, loans, blood, sperm, spank - - all under one roof.
One-stop shopping!
Robbers would need to use care.

Can someone please file for an injunction asap before it looks like this but with a bunch of broken-down 'gold' chachkies scattered around the edges?

some fucking clown *will* agree to go nuclear, is what I'm reading into this...
I think there needs to be an objective to declare victory. This was a desperate plan by the WH to remain in power. It's not working.
Next up, the yuan becomes the global reserve currency.
The Euro is already used for c30% of trades.
I saw yesterday that 30 percent of China’s trade is in yuan.
"Trump wants a quick victory"
History is littered with despots in need of a "quick victory"
Any battles beginning with such a mentality do NOT end well.
None of these people know how things work. The "rescue mission" looks more loke a failed operation every day. Where are the hero pilots we saved?
Agree. It was all a huge lie.

Still something unique. He's the slimy motherfucker who owes people he slandered 1.5 Billion Dollars in large part because he's an idiot.

I am with some more expert birders and am having experiences like:
Expert Birder #1: (Gestures vaguely towards bush) "Blue-faced Warbler"
Expert Birder #2: "Yeah, a female, carrying nesting material."
Me: "WTF? Where? No see."
But I try not to let this discourage me. I do see quite a lot, just not everything all the time.
