Sugar water: America's lifeline!

I wonder if GM used the Intense Debate word filtering software to cleanse their e-mails of forbidden words like "defective" and "rolling sarcophagus" (seriously, wtf???!?)

This can only be a deliberate attempt to rid the files of search terms, so that plaintiffs' lawyers can't easily find useful information buried in terabytes of discovery documents. Lawyers being lawers, of course, they'll hire an army of discovery drones (a.k.a. unemployed lawyers desperate enough to work 80-hr weeks at $30/hr) to read every fucking byte, because GM is going to end up paying for it all.

Twenty-one great tobaccos make twenty wonderful smokes! They're the gift that keeps on giving, right up until you cough out your last puff.

If the league's by-laws or constitution or Sacred Founding Documents or whatever explicitly allow it, Sterling's out. If there's even a sliver of ambiguity...let's just say he didn't acquire all those apartment buildings by being a bad litigator.

OT, but it's official: my congresscritter is an idiot, or a tool, or both:

Dear [Lot_49],

Thank you for contacting me to share your views on "net neutrality." I appreciate hearing from you. [blah blah] I recently sent a letter to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler in response to recent reports that the FCC will consider regulating broadband Internet as a Title II, Common Carrier. In this letter, I urged the Chairman to not make this designation. Such a designation would establish strict, utility-type regulation similar to that of telephone services in the 1930s. This type of regulation simply won't work for this new, innovative, ever-evolving technology. [blah blah] Thank you again for contacting me. In San Diego, we know what kind of results we can achieve when we work together, and that is the approach I am taking to Washington....

"Sincerely,"

Scott Peters Member of Congress

"Working together" clearly means representing the interests of the corporations who contribute to his campaign.

Since Mr Sterling has such interesting views about The Negro, one wonders whether anyone has thought to ask Cliven Bundy if he has any thoughts about The Jew.

Fun fact: They used to market mixing 7Up with milk as good for the babies.

Better for them than Guinness and milk?*

*UK peeps - were you ever given this when you were sick or were my parents just sadistic bastards?

Oh for fuckitty fuck's sake. You know, I've gotten some annoying replies from my elected representatives. For instance, a pretty dismissive reply from DiFi to an email I sent regarding her support of "flag desecration" legislation.

But at least her staff sent me the version of the form letter that recognized that I disagreed with her.
